Barely 24 hours after embarking on nationwide protests against the removal of fuel subsidy, the Organised Labour has suspended its proposed strike action.

The President of Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo made this known during an interview with Arise News on Thursday morning.

He said the Labour leaders who had earlier met with President Bola Tinubu extracted some commitments to some of the issues raised during the meeting for immediate implementation.

He explained the suspension of the strike was based on this.

The PUNCH reported that in a press release issued on Tuesday, the Nigeria Labour Congress had announced that it would proceed with the nationwide mass protest as initially planned, following a meeting with the Federal Government.

The NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero noted that the outcome of the meeting with the government did not yield positive any changes or concessions that would alter their course of action. They stressed that they remained steadfast in their commitment to representing the Nigerian workersโ€™ and peopleโ€™s interests and desires.

What more can we say about our President?

Throwback:
Tinubu still has his Midas touch.

His sincerity of purpose has won over the Labour Unions who truly know that hard decisions need to be taken, to save our country.

Osagyefo Bola Tinubu should carry on with his mandate of renewed hope.

Tinubu is very good at solving issues bfr it gets worst! Nigeria letโ€™s be patient. We re on the right track.
One of the right thing I am praising this govt for is by bringing those who have experience in their fields into the ministries. The era of employing a cobbler to head health ministery is gone

Nigerians should understand that everything was staged b4 the drug Baron Baron left for Benin republic . The whole institution in Nigeria have been bastardized since 2015 by Apc starting from the poo in hari. Thief'nubu just continued where the poo stopped. If you believed NLC, you really need to check into the hopeless people's home

It was a stunt that was rehearsed to polish the character & Image of the mandate thief.

If na lie, read what the supporters & defenders of corruption since 2015 on social media especially will now say about the thief grin grin

Lol...the joke is on you bro grin

...cos how did same fella now support the abrupt calling off of the protest after meeting with BAT & getting some assurance regarding their demands from him??

My point is we should try as much as possible to be objective with our views, putting aside religious, political and ethnic sentiments when reeling them out.
