PRESS RELEASE

Hon. Kama Nkemkanma Commends President Tinubu for listening to his Motion on Suspending Fees Hike in Unity schools.

The member representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, Hon. Nkemkanma Kama has commended the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the order given to the authorities in all Federal Institutions to stop fees hike. The lawmaker who recently sponsored a motion urging the Federal Government to suspend the increase of school fees of Federal Unity Schools applauded the President for a listening ear. In his motion, he emphasized the rise in the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria at the moment adding that this ill-timed hike in the fees will unleash incalculable social, moral, economic, and psychological disaster and will cause irredeemable shocks on our already overwhelmed country.

Hon. Kama further urged the Clerk to invite the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Education and the National Body of the Parents-Teachers-Association to appear before the House within the next seven days to deliberate on the issues prompting the increase.

He should also instruct bread sellers to reverse the recent price increase. Before then, he should mandate flour importers to reverse theirs and just before then, tell CBN to reverse devaluation of Naira fro #400 to #890.
