What of the ratio for holders of dangsugar? I think the worst will be 1 for 3 which will still be profitable to a lot of people if listing price is N100.

1 for 3 at #100 listing price will not be profitable for those that picked it from #33 and above.

There are what they call economic sanctions which the West mainly use as leverage. Military action could prove unnecessary aggression and a regrettable step.
I advise this administration to think this through based on logic and not just emotions and pressure from external parties looking to benefit from a proxy war.
Having border security to checkmate the possible influx of people into Northern Nigeria is okay.

As regards how this affects the market going forward, I'll advise all that care to listen to " TRADE WITH CAUTION".

Ikeja Hotel Dividend received on 31st July and I didn't submit E-dividend mandate. I believe their Regitrars Greenwich used my Bank details with my Stockbroker through which I bought the shares even though I already have an active mandated E-divided for ECOBANK with the same Registrars for another Bank.
I wish other Regitrars do same to reduce stress for Shareholders, my Gtb Dividends have been hanging for so long, done everything they asked and got tired jor.

onegentleguy:
There has been a reoccurance of mergers/aquisation or takeover/buyout and follow-up delisting of some quoted companies on the NSE bourse.

Over the yrs, the likes of NBC, BAGCO, IHS, CAPPA & D'ALBERTO, OASIS INSURANCE, CRUSADER INSURANCE, 7-UP, ASHAKA CEMENT, AVON CROWN CAPS, DIAMOND BANK, NEWREST ASL, DANGOTE FLOUR, CONTINENTAL RE, 1ST ALUMINIUM and most recently AG LEVENTIS to mention just a few, have either undergone a merger, aquisation or takeover/buyout. ...with the last 6 all brokered in less than a year !!
However, I think we might see a few more in the not-so-distant future.

Given the current position of their financial print(balance sheet position in view) in relation to their present equity prices, the following coys could be future candidates for a merger, aquisation or take over/buy out:

NEIMETH PHARMACEUTICALS, CHAMS, FO, GLAXOSMITHKLINE NIG, COURTVILLE, TRANEX(trans-nationwide express), UNIONDAC, PZ and BERGER PAINTS PLC.

Why?

1st off, is to ascertain if there are doubts surrounding the survival of these companies, so one doesn't lose their money taking(early) positions in them. And next, is to look in on their current earnings capacity, then gauge its relative sustainability over time.

On that line, keeping a tag on their OHLSONS O-SCORE(a key financial tool used to forecast if a company could go bankrupt), I see them remaining as a going concern. ...which makes them attractive candidates for 'external forces'(investors) who could bid to take them on at a cheap and turn them around.

...and using the EPP(earnings persistence approach: a valuation technique used to predict how often the earnings return of a coy will likely continue to reoccur over time after raking-off risk), I see a higher probability that any take over/buy out(should they occur) will be priced @ great premiums to their current market prices.
With some, at potential premiums of near 105% ROI !!

I particularly like the 1st 5.

On a side note, a few coys in the financial services sector, particularly the INSURANCE segment 'could also be up for grabs'... so watch that space !!

CAVEAT: This piece is only intended to look at quoted coys with chances of a merger, aquisation or takeover/buy out.
...it is NO licence to any sought of recommendation !!

My advise: Always do well to follow ur instinct.
Hmmmm !! It came to past after 4 years ... mean GSK

No not at the onset but it is more likely to go higher after listing until the results starts rolling and people can estimate the value of the new entity and also remember this is probably the worst scenario. A more probable ratio will be 1 for 2.

On e-dividends matter, this might help some persons also: It so happened that there was an error in the order of my name for BVN. It was different from the order with my bank.

BVN: Second First Surname.
BANK: First Second Surname.

E-dividends were unresolved till customer service pointed the error out when I went to resolve something else. A stockbroker confirmed the disparity will prevent dividend payment. I had to swear a court affidavit to get the BVN error corrected at the bank.

Shortly after, I got my dividends.

You are very correct, from experience, BVN name arrangement has prevented many investors from getting their dividends.

Actually based on the kyc drive that started about two years ago by the regulators using the stockbrokers, having the correct name arrangement on BVN, and all things being equal, investors can get their dividend even without completing the e-mandate form.

When someone drop this kind of information rather that questioning the source, what you should do is to check how reliable the previous post of the person is and then do your own due diligence.

Check the previous post of customstreet, you will realise he was among the first to call DANGSUGAR at around 17. He was also the first person go give a to hint about the merger.
That tells you he is privy to classified info.

Once he drops his gems, it is left for you to do you due diligence and take position if you consider the information valuable.

You can't expect him to come and tell you he arrive at the listing price.

Note: not saying you should buy at current price.
A pull back might happen presenting an opportunity to enter at a lower price.

One thing is certain, Dangote Foods will eventually surpass BUAFOODS in terms of share price and capitalisation. Alhaji will not rest until that happens. Interesting days ahead.
