TechGeek777:but shey all those lithium batteries that have power button on them, if the solar is producing enough energy and you want the inverter to power the load and leave your full battery alone, if you turn off the battery will it not leave the battery alone? |

Oppsin: 7 what?? you cant get 2hrs self. you will need atleast 4 batteries for that except probably with solar energy complimenting, but on batteries alone, NO 1 Like |

AshipaEk0: I'm not sure what you mean, but don't forget, most people are not logging into PVOutput. I didn't start logging regularly until about 2 years ago. |

brightk: okay sir. its impossible for him to get beyond 2hrs. so far its a lead acid battery. read about Peukert's law. plus he cant go beyond 50% DOD. 500watts out of a 220ah battery #12v no be joke. the battery voltage will sag so bad within minutes. That's over 50amps draw from one single lead acid battery it will only work when the sun is up,t that's if panels are added |

The man said he will be getting two solar panel irradiance of 1000W/m2, I didn't trust the man and that's why I came to nairaland and if I can see anyone that is trustworthy so I can give him the job to get my solar and inverter done. Modify: That's what the man listed for me, any say on that? dacool1:

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dacool1(m): 9:37pm On Aug 05, 2023 |
Oppsin: you want to draw 500w from 360w panel. well it wont work. you will need a minimum of 8 pieces of 180watts panel and 4 220ah batteries incase of days with unfavourable weather. Plus most of these 180 watts panel are actually 150 watts ideally you should have about 10 to 14 panels you will be needing a bigger charge controller too 1 Like |

Happy Sunday everyone. Please what's the difference between 24v and 48v for either a 3.5KVA or 5.5KVA. Please in a layman language. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by EduTechTainMent: 9:17am On Aug 06, 2023 |
yemi2plus:24v means you would need to buy and use two batteries everytime you wish to make use of the inverter or upgrade to newer batteries when the old ones are weak/bad. 48v by extension means you would need to buy 4 batteries (each battery is 12v). You can't use one battery (rated 12v) at a time for either of the inverters above. Know that most batteries are rated 12v. The voltage of the inverter however depends on what you wish to power i.e. Your use case |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by yemi2plus(m): 10:29am On Aug 06, 2023 |
EduTechTainMent: Thank you for this simple explanation. Instead of buying two batteries rated 12v each, can I purchase a single rated 24v? For example, for a 3.5KVA 24V, can I use a 200a 24V battery instead of two 160a 12V batteries? |
