Cuz of their perceived protest, some other shareholders or bank directors(i don't know) went to court to postpone the AGM..
Which the protesters insist must hold as their Statutory Right.

Yes AGM must hold but the date can be changed if the need arises.

Besides they have the right to vote against the planned right issues during the AGM if they are the majority their wish will be granted.

Oga fbnh is a viable company those who don't like the policies of the company should go and sell there shares instead of disrupting the business activities of fbn. Or better still vote against the policy during the AGM.

I don't think it's a protest against Rights Issue but a protest against some plan to distrupt the AGM.

All these still boils down to the control issue going on in FBN.

FBNH is not really viable.
All these noise is due to the renewed buying interest.

You probably don't know the history of FBNH.
That bank has been downhill for some years now.

U don't still get it.
They are protesting cuz they believe that it's because of their varied opinions FirstBank is postponing the AGM..
They believe First Bank assumes they will have the majority in the votes against Right issue as well as influencing new directors on the board...
Hence the sudden postponement of AGM..

I have been looking at this company result with my double lense glasses. What do you all think about it? Though the eps was as a result of the proceeds of sale of assets. But then, their debt to equity ratio is 0.59.

I've heard this too but no one seems to be sure of it....
Any insider info on the likely buy-out price?
What if GSK ends up paying more than that?

Gsk is not a dead company. The parent company is doing well. They will not pay anything less than #15 .That was why they paid 7.50 for ribena. They are not like nigeria companies that reapoff shareholders .They have a global brand name to maintain

So how exactly does that change the fact that they are free to sell their shares and move on?

Those that bought with dividend in mind should just sell at a loss and move on.?
when the company did not declare loss...

I think First Bank is trying to prevent Chaos in the AGM...
Protesting shareholders think First Bank is preventing their grievances from bring heard

Who should be more concerned about the company wellbeing, is the shareholder with some thousands of shares or the director/stack holder with hundreds of millions / billions of shares?

Infact this is one of the reasons one should not invest the money they can not afford to lose in the stock market.

I am a shareholder.I do not wish to sell my holdings. Therefore the AGM should hold so I can get my dividend as an investor. I hope I am now speaking English and not French. They have no reason to shit the AGM as all banks that declared dividend have paid.

how can invest and not have peace of mind to the extent of protesting against the company's policy. I mean forcing a company to hold their agm on a date that is not comfortable for them all because you want them to quickly receive dividend.
