Please house, I'm willing to walk into a solar shop anytime soon as Nepa is no longer dependable. I’m looking forward to purchase a 1 battery solar setup that could power laptop120w, tv120w, fan33w,Dstv decoder and charge 3 or 4 phones only.

I’m a total novice to solar setups so I want advice and recommendations regarding battery, solar panels, inverter etc to achieve a quality and efficient setup.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I can't place my head around your inference about PV Production here.
I am also a registered PVOutput User but for some reasons I decided that I don't need such logging of data to some open source hosted servers.
From the list you posted you should know that not all Nigerian Solar Users are on that list for you to have substantiated your claim.

This is a brief intro of my setup:

2x 8KW Deye Hybrid Inverters EU-Version.
4x 15KW Felicity LPBF48300 Battery Packs.
24x 600W Canadian Solar Panels.
10x 540W Felicity Solar Panels.

That's about 15KWp I have here and I do generate above 60KW PV Energy daily here in Abuja.
The top system on that your list didn't make it to half of my PV Power.
You can get my load list from https://www.nairaland.com/post/124283202

We are not here to flex muscles about who generates more solar energy or who has the most robust system.

imagine wetin this guy de produce.
Four inverters, 3 victrons and 1 fronius... Lithium battery from BYD, since i took this picture 2 more units of BYD 15kwh have been added... Carries central AC that supplies cooling for 2 living rooms, dining and 3 bedrooms... Other parts of the house has split AC's.... Like this control room.

Update: Thank you for your inputs, was able to call another installer, they confirmed there is nothing wrong with the panels but the connections at the panel end was the issue. The fist installer connected the first six panels in 2s 3p then connected in parallel to the last three panel that is already connected in parallel. With this kind of connections affected the whole system. He had to disconnect the whole set up and connected the 9 panels in 3S3P and with this I saw a tremendous improvement in the system.

TechGeek777:

If the watts stated here is per hour, the panels are definitely fake.

If it's comulative, the batteries should be checked.

In all contact your installer.

Yes oooo, that's more like it. This is a nice setup you got there. I wonder how some people will think that we are here to compete on who produces what amount of solar.
Those BYD batteries dey enter my eye ooo. grin grin grin Kudos bro.

Interesting assumption. I don't know how you expect everyone to be on that list. Some of us are in rural areas without network connectivity or reliability. I generate about 25kwh averagely from one of my rural setups (24x 300w Canadian panels, 27kw LiFePO4 storage) daily (the biggest) and I have 4 setups in all. So the noise being made here is working, as it's encouraging us to do more grin grin

I have installed 3 units of the 3KVA, 24V model.
I have nothing to complain about regarding them.
One of them for hit by lightning and died, I have taken it to the the distributor and waiting for feedback.

Has anyone used "SRNE HF Series hybrid inverter" e.g. HF4850S80-145v. Is it a durable inverter and how's they after sales service like warranty?

Kindly share anything you know about the SRNE hybrid inverter, thanks in anticipation!

Thanks for the response, boss, and very insightful perspectives you presented there.

However, i discovered that my "curtain" was the culprit... embarassed...somehow, the curtain close to the area my setup is installed blocked the fan operating inside the charger and heat possibly built up in the system over the night causing it to damage. When the first repairer i took it to in Ijesha opened it, we discovered that two major components (i think the power, transformer and toroid or so) was completely burnt. The repairer condemned it... cry

I decided to count my loss and buy a new one. So, i headed to Idi-oro, Mushin, and bought a new one. Just as i was about leaving the shop, it occurred to me to ask them who repairs Suoer inverters and chargers and they referred me to one Pastor at Macintosh plaza, opposite Gtbank. Luckily, he had a scrap charger of same model, so he replaced all the burnt components and the charger is working well. The man confidently said he repairs inverters and chargers, but he is a specialist in Suoer. So, just in case someone needs to repair any Suoer product, i will be happy to direct the person to him.

Summarily, i ended up with 2 chargers (a new one and the repaired one). My usual sef would have put up one of them for sale immediately... grin, but the way prices of things are skyrocketing, i am better off keeping it. Besides, it doesnt hurt to have an extra of these kind of devices as they come in handy as backups

Please share the contact of the souer charger repairer

Which kind TV u they use wen b 120watt, yr tv they consume energy pass my 329ltr refrigerator, is it a led TV? wen buying electronics try to look at the energy rating, my TV is just 55watt i bought it since 2018, i even say the power rating is too much, some newer TV rating is as low as 10watts

Thanks

I guess it's not worth it spending around 300k on the set up for a room and parlor ( just a 120w tv and 2 fans).

One more thing please, during the day, is it possible to be charging the battery with solar(mppt) and using it simultaneously, or I have to charge first , then use and charge again.

Note : I am a newbie

I just want to set up a 500w inverter, star plus tubular battery (12v 220ah), 300w panel and a mppt(60A)

Good pm chairmen.

A question has been bothering me.

Which is actually better between UPS (e.g bluegate UPS) and a hybrid inverter?

Typical UPS consists of: Automatic voltage regulator, battery charger and inverter,

Hybrid inverter consist of: Battery charger, inverter, Mppt charge controller,

But most people that use hybrid inverter with Mppt also are advised to use external Mppt which is additional cost again.

So... Say... If I buy a 3kva Bluegate UPS, open it and connect it to a tubular battery, would it be as efficient as an hybrid inverter viz idle power consumption?

I fear the UPS internal transformer would be quite big and consume more power from the battery than an hybrid inverter.

As I dey read everywhere day inverter dey misbehave, I never see where UPS dey misbehave o cheesy

In short, I will like to know the disadvantages of using UPS in place of inverter

As I dey read everywhere day inverter dey misbehave, I never see where UPS dey misbehave o
That's because not many people are using it.

I use a very big UPS as one of my invertters.
UPS can't charge the batteries, but since the UPS is connected to the batteries, while the ChargeController is connected to the Batteries with a saft switch and a Fuse, that issue is taken care of.

Another thing is, you need something to cool the UPS, I added extra FANs inside the UPS and that's taken care of. Without those extra FANs inside the UPS, it would quickly overHeat

Good pm house

I bought a 2.5kva smarten inverter and 220ah Interlight Tubular battery and shipped it across to my state.

I thought that was the end but it won't on o. Den say I have to buy another battery to add it to make it 24v before it will start and account don red like this.

What is the temporary solution pls? Can I pair the 220ah tubular battery with 50/100ah dry cell battery for mean time?

Doing that would Kill that battery.

Also when you Mix a strong/higherCapacity battery with Weak/lowercapacity battery, the weak/lowerCapacity battery is what accounts hence the higher one would just be a waste, and would slowly get weak and die.

Solution is, park them till you could afford to buy another 220ah tubular battery to make up the needed 24v needed
