Mr English wey no sabi anything, singular dice is called die.

Btw, English isn't our first language and shouldn't be a measure for intelligence.

Well, it's actually more correct to say "Dice" since that's how the original and widely accepted adage goes... An adage that is rightly credited to Albert Einstein, who said, and I quote, "God does not play dice with the universe".

I agree with you about English not being a measure of intelligence... Even those of us who claim to speak and write it perfectly are not truly proficient in it.

The biggest problem of Nigeria is that Nigeria herself isn't One..
The interest of the president is quite parallel to the interest of different nations that constitutes Nigeria..
He has a serious task to make REVOLUTIONARY actions..the way Nigeria is constituted at the moment is seriously tempting for military interventions...else he will have himself to blame

Great Comment.

Even if Tinubu were to make a U-turn on his decision, the involvement of the Wagner Group adds a layer of complexity that makes a peaceful resolution appear nearly miraculous.

My earlier stance too... That position should never have gone to a man newly elected from a highly controversial and currently disputed election.

Jagaban is already compromised as it stands.

You got my position very very wrong

It's not about controversial election but more of international relation experience

A new president need at least one year to familiarize himself with stuff like ECOWAS, UN etc irrespective of election/country of origin

And mind you what is wrong with Nigeria election is not enough to make Tinubu not win

For APC to win in 2015 they unite CPC, ACN, nPDP and some others

I keep saying it since last year that Atiku will never win with Obi canceling him out either on the ballot or in the court and same thing goes for Obi

That's why Atiku and Obi are looking for disqualification of Mr Tinubu rather than focusing on validating claims that then won

Get that serial looser to step down for Peter Obi and it will be a smooth victory otherwise both of them should prepare for more heartbreak

Not a fan of Tinubu but this is not an objective argument.
Is the North the only region that will be affected if Nigeria goes to war?
In all our past wars, what has the North lost? Yes, I dare ask.

It's almost impossible to attempt to get past this ethnic narrative that keeps us grounded.

Tinubu didn't ask for war. It was the military that decided to do a coup. As the President of the largest democracy in Africa and the leader of the region's bloc, what was he supposed to do? Perhaps not start making threats he couldn't see through but he had to do something.

We should query how he arrived at that conclusion. We should examine the non existence of diplomacy in African governance. We should talk about the strength of democracy in Africa especially as Sierra Leone is restless; Mali and Burkinafaso have military governments; even Nigeria is not immune from the outcome of the PET.

These are what we should examine when we want to engage in substantial dialogues not beating the drums of war along ethnic lines.

Tinubu wants to get a pat at the back from the US that's why he is doing what his doing. I'm sure CIA has told him they will wipe his criminal records if he invade Niger

You are running circles around the hard truth... But, I understand. That's the price of partisanship. Personally, I can call a spade a spade cos I'm neutral in all of these.

This is the truth:

1. ECOWAS should not have considered Tinubu or any elected Nigerian President due to their being nascent in the role (No need stretching this simple fact).

2. Nigeria's recent Election was highly controversial and this is not subject to argument. I honestly don't care about the chances of Atiku and others... INEC was suspect and shoddy. They could and should have done better to erase doubts among winners and losers.

True, but it's quite obvious he isn't a strategic thinker. His hasty decision making so far clearly shows it.

I can point out many ways B.A.T has screwed up with how he handled this Niger matter, however like you said how can you blame him?

First of all his personal alliance with France has already made him totally distasteful to French speaking Africa as a whole (who are trying to rid themselves of France). But how can you blame a person who used dubious methods from having dubious connections?

B.A.T is a wrong person at the right place at the wrong time... but how do we blame him?

So what do you suggest as the way forward in terms of Nigeria’s leadership?

1. Completely sanitize the electoral body. Partially 'uncorrupt' that so-called independent commission by making its top leadership by general consensus across citizenry rather than via selection/appointment. The same should go for CBN and AGN positions.

2. It goes without saying that the current 1999 Constitution has to be reworked to suit a nation destined for unity and progress.

3. A successful number 2 above should pave way for the overdue "Decentralization of Government" for better statewide and regional leadership and focus.

These should be foundational for every other intended progress of this nation... The failure of the above means the nation will never make any serious progress. NEVER!!!

Taking non Muslim soldiers of Nigeria 🇳🇬 to fight soldiers of Niger 🇳🇪 Republic who are nearly all Muslims, will escalate tension in the region.
It's hard see any worse tension than the tension following the adoption of unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system by the Sharia states of Northern Nigeria that are bordering Niger 🇳🇪 and Chad 🇹🇩 Republics.
Niger is most likely to be under sharia criminal justice system.
