Nigeria rich man has a house in Houston of $500k that he pays property tax of circa $12k on per year.

Same rich man has a house in Ikoyi valued at N500mln. Ask him to come and pay N250k per year land use charge ($277) and they will shout to the high heavens and call folks in govt they know and intimidate the revenue guys from their property.

But everyone wants Nigeria to be like obodo oyinbo.

that one immediately outsourced FIRS duties to a private firm fronted in proxy by tinibu and eent on to win a bid for collected of national revenue with a percentage takeback of 1%>>>

tinibu had a 50:50 sharing formula agreement with management of remitta..only oil proceeds, and customs and some MDA's are exluded from remitta....now he is in power ,its time to include them...so his imcome will rise...

he is naija's biggest thieve..worse than abacha...i know him too well..very very well

How will this ease doing business when you will have to confirm payment with firs before you can get attention from the relevant bodies?
TSA already ensures all agencies share one purse so I don't know what this will achieve apart from creating more bottlenecks and inter-agency rivalry.
What will be better is if the bills to be paid are streamlined and the payment system centralised like we have with remita

Nigerian Customs is the major culprit here.
They overdo everything. They don't obey traffic law, always flashing their guns even more than the military guys.

This time agencies like customs won’t bother to do their job again since they are no longer authorized to collect bush allowance.

Let them increase the salaries of these agencies workers as soon as it is implemented.
