The problem is not the allocation but the transparency. If the offices shows what they received, who they gave contract to and the number of people employed directly and indirectly to make the furniture... it's a way to stimulate the economy. The problem we have in Nigeria is diversion for personal benefits, and the same people complaining about the politicians also benefit from such diversions if they are immediate or distant family members. Furniture you will see on Amazon for $150...the DC Govt will buy them for $600 from contractors. They have to be open about it...those companies buy and make in America and also indirectly fund their campaigns. At least, we know what we are getting...corrupt politicians. ManirBK: |

Triv8: You might not believe what you posted but I won't be surprised if it starts to happen few years from now. Life is becoming too hard for the masses and our politicians/leaders are too blind to see it. They're only good at shielding themselves against the hardship |

Wisereborn: Stop deceiving yourself just because this news came from one of the northern states. Monumental and brazing frauds are witnessed more down south. Most of the southern states are debts ridden with nothing to show for it while northern govs hardly borrowed money. Two, Niger Delta states and Lagos state are receiving insane monthly allocations with nothing to show for it unlike most of the northern states that receive far less allocations. |

For all the dumb and gullible monkeys and baboons reading this, your stupidity is one of the main problems of Nigeria and the Black race. Baboons! Now the useless, empty-baked, sufferhead journalist that is like you baboons and that wrote the article does not help the case. Too much iiiidiots in Nigeria. The N675m furniture allowance appears to be for all Local Government elected senior officials. Under Nigeria's laws, they are entitled to be paid furniture allowance for a 4 year period. The officials qualifying are Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Councillors. The amount of furniture allowance they are entitled to, every 4 years, varies (up to N2.7m for Chairman); but you can average it out at about N2.3m. Now, there are 21 Local Governments in Kebbi State. Each has 1 Chairman, Vice Chairman and a Secretary. Hence, that is 63 of them in total. In total, there are at least 225 councillors in Kebbi State. (Could be more) Adding these, gives you 288 people which this N675m covers. Divide these (675m/288) and you get N2.344m. This is why it is clear AliEzeOlu should have been swallowed. |

Edipet: If they are legally entitled to those allowances, and so? The masses are suffering for voting for Goodluck Jonathan in 2011. And Buhari came to compound it for them. Next time, they should have sense to vote for capable hands, tough personality and low corruption person. |
