Our midfield depth is scary and looks sorted out for the next few years if these guys live up to their potential. To think we still have Santos, Casadei, emeka, Lesley and that talented Ecuador boy that holy boehly signed earlier this year. I see few reasons why we can't be competing again for the premier league and champions league by the 2024 transfer window.

That leaves Enzo Caicedo Santos Lavia for the 2 double 6 positions and Chukwuemeka for 3 man midfield. That's 5 midfielders that's pretty much enough for EPL and Carling cup/FA cup.

Out of that 5, Caicedo and Chukwuemeka are okay aerial, Santos as well, even Lavia but the they have to improve aerially along with Enzo.

The issue with having just CBa that are good aerially is if they lose the aerial duel it less room behind for an attack to be 1v1 with the GK.

I feel Lavia replaces Gallagher in a three man midfielder, instead of being central, Caicedo could play central with Enzo on the left and Lavia on the right. If Caicedo isn't playing then Lavia Enzo and Emeka (box to box and defend against aerial passes). My opinion, let's just see who Poch would pick in the 25man squad and how he lines up.

My opinion is based on that a Liverpool player said they thought Chelsea would line up 433.

It's just that next summer Ugochukwu(or Santos) and Casadei would be back from loan. Hmm 🤔 till then.

don't need to go far back to 2017. Didn't Poch use Veratti Gueye Paredes Herrera Pereira in double 6 or 3 man midfield, later replaced Herrera with wijnaldum. He may look to repeat such tactics in Chelsea.

Nkuku is not a natural top striker, we need another 9. Broja should go on loan, he is not ready yet to do 25+ league goals.

Our major problem that I can see is, putting the ball at the back of the net. We are creating plenty of chances but still don't know how to bury them. I am not against Olize, but we need another natural striker, so that pressure of scoring won't kill this young Jackson.

That Jackson I see will be a waste if there is no better striker and a scorer partnering him.

He does the job of holding off markers expertly but he is not a good finisher. The one time he turned and tried his luck at goal was just pathetic. He can't shoot properly. He might only score through poaching..but I don't see him scoring from a distance or placing home, a nice volley.

If he continues to be the point man, I dont have any hopes of we scoring much. Maybe sterling can partner him in the box.
