First Lady Oluremi Tinubu says Nigerians cannot wait for government to do everything.

She said this yesterday while hosting the National Executive of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) in her office at the State House, Abuja.

“We cannot wait for government to do everything. We must lend a helping hand to everyone around us,” she said.

She urged all women to ensure youths are guided to follow the path of good values and morals.


She underscored the need for all women to pursue a way to take the youth out of the clutches of the negative aspects of the social media.

In her remarks, Lau said the NCWS would partner with the first lady on her Renewed Hope Initiative pet project.

Meanwhile, former First Lady Patience Jonathan yesterday visited Mrs Tinubu and promised her support to achieve the goals of assisting the needy in the society.

She said it was imperative for her as a former first lady to also support and encourage Mrs Tinubu on things that would move the nation forward.

“You’re one of the women that I looked forward to, because you can make Nigerian women proud, I’m here to encourage and support you because we’re one country and our country must move forward.

“Twenty four hours, I’m with you, call me anytime, any day, I’ll work with you for the country to move forward and to be better because it’s our country, we have no other place to go.”

Hahaha. Make government no even Dey do anything sef. Make dem share the budget equally to every household using NIN we will do more than the government has been doing.

Imagine residents of a street contributing to build a culvert, interlock their street & provided streetlights. Wetin government no fit do for dem dem do am. Dem still dey pay tax give government.

Imagine residents providing water for themselves, quality education through the private schools and basic Medicare from their pockets at private hospitals. Wetin government dey do sef?

Okay.
But the main problem now is that government is not doing anything. No good roads, no provision of safe water, Nitel is gone, kerosine, diesel and petrol subsidy is gone, power sector has been privatised, agricultural sector is neglected, no mortgage, no affordable health insurance for the common man, the list is endless.
What exactly is the function of Nigeria government besides paying salaries of workers?

Madam nobody is waiting for the government to do anything. All we're saying is that your husband should bring up policies that would be friendly to the system.

You can't remove subsidy without creating any form of relief backup, dollar is almost 1k, businesses are groaning and nearing total collapse due to multiple taxation from the government...etc, and expect us to keep quiet.

We would talk. If you want us to do something, being up policies that would enable us succeed in the little step we take, and you wouldn't hear us mention you or your husband's name.
