1986-1990 was a northerner-Rilwanu lukman. same man also came back and occupied the office in 2008 until 2010.

Throughout OBJ's tenure, OBJ was the petroleum minister from 1999-2007.

Throughout Buhari's tenure, buhari was the substantive minister of petroleum from 2015-2023.

How does giving Niger Delta minister of petroleum compensates the degradation of their land? Does getting the minister to them automatically reverse all the pollution done to the land and water? How many of those so called ministers even care for or remember the interest of the people when they get there? It is even possible that another person from another region understand what the problems are and is more willing to do something to reverse the ugly trend. I wish we can have Nigerians who love the country and his people irrespective of the region the person comes from.
