The guy is a serial fraudster... He does his heinous act on Jiji too...

Try to find a way to arrange for a meet up on a business deal and use Police to arrest him... He is based in Ekpoma I guess

It's all these online scammers that make people scared of online goods and services.

Whenever you just hear, "our vehicle broke down and needs to be fixed", just know that they're scammers.
Same lie they told my brother when he paid for a labtop, they even asked for money to fix the vehicle. My naive brother gave it to them even after I told him no, as if he was hypnotized.

Before my brother paid that money, I had a bad feeling and my heart was beating fast, I told him not to pay the money and let our father get it for him on his next travel but my brother was stubborn.

You'll never hear that you bought a good from Jumia but it didn't get to you.
They'll surely deliver.

As there are scammers online, there are also legit people online.
Just follow your inner voice.

Please read this careful and share

Many people don't always know what to do, so today am sharing with you things you do, when you realize a the person you paid for a service or goods is avoiding you:

1. Write out the Full name and account number of the page or person.

2. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text) copy out the "TRANSACTION ID NUMBER".

3. Go to any branch of the scam artist's bank (the bank you transferred to), ask to see the CUSTOMER SERVICE in charge of FRAUD.

While you are there, send an email to SCAMMER'S BANK or the d bank u wrongly paid to and copy
CBN FRAUD DESK. (anticorruptionunit@cbn.gov.ng) n also cpd@cbn.gov.ng
& contactcbn@cbn.gov.ng, this will ginger the bank to take it up fast.

Sometimes we need to pay attention to details when buying these products. These are two versions of the same product with same name. One has better storage capacity and performance than the other. Difference is the ROM and Chipset. Snapdragon processors make for better battery life. Just 20-30 difference between both phones but the margin of satisfaction is very wide

I would have helped to track this person down so easily with his number only but, the problem is that money involved is too little to compare to the job I will do........ And don't use address or picture to track someone down someone because all that is 99% fake details..... The phone company should take the responsibility of this case not even you

By now your story should be everywhere on Twitter and other social media not only here. At least to prevent others from falling victim of the scammer.

If you get scammed pls do not keep quiet because by so doing you embolden the scammer to continue, there are certain steps you can take to retrieve your money back no matter how much is involved.

I have dealt with scammers several times and have helped lots of people recover their monies.

You can get the culprits account frozen or you take certain steps to track their phone number, have done this several times.

Yup, exactly.

These useless scammers, they will never end well. It's a question of time.

Hmm OP sorry about your ordeal. Follow the steps someone shared about copying the CBN anti-corruption desk when you mail his bank. And keep following up with reminder mails. The scammer will contact you when PND is placed on his account.

About the debate on pay on delivery. I sell mattresses and I gladly turn down people who ask for pay on delivery. If you can't visit the store, you will pay at least a deposit of 5k before goods leave the store, so we are assured that you are committed to the transaction. I did pay on delivery for a useless human being who decided to change his mind and switch off his phone after delivery guy had gone out. Had to pay for delivery guy carrying mattress to and fro and no money was made. Second time, the mattress got to the idiot and he started negotiations all over again, cos he felt I won't have a choice. I had to pay the delivery guy for his service again on this occasion despite no money being made from the botched transaction. Since then, any prospect that can't visit the store and can't make a deposit before goods leave the store are free to go fuuurk themselves!

Forget about Nigerian institutions like the police helping you recover your money because you'll have to spend more money, which you don't have. And there's nothing your bank can do because you transferred the money yourself.

The institutions don't work.

In 2017/2018, I made a N10,000 donation with my visa card to OPM church on their website www.opmworldwide.com but instead got billed N70,000. I quickly contacted the relevant authorities - ALL of them. After a few chitchat, the next thing was that one of the agencies forwarded my conversation to the accused, took bribe and instead began investigating me, all the way to Benin republic where I was writing a book at that time. I was told they even liaised with the pastor of the church to come to my street to check whether I know him and was blackmailing him. That's how corrupt Nigerian government agencies.

So, forget about the institutions. And don't waste your time blocking his BVN because the Opay account you sent money to wasn't opened with his real BVN. All you need to open Opay account is an eleven digits number, not necessarily a phone number.

Count your loss and learn from the experience.

We dnt knw if the idiot/his fellow BASTARDare reading this..Best bet is to write or forward a petition against him to Edo state police command
JasonNOTStatham:
Use another account to reach out to the user, tell him that you would like to use him as a reseller and want to deliver some goods (phones). Praise him for his influence and all that... Be serious, show proof that you have the goods and tell him how you would deliver it to him, act like a fool and say if he can sell 10 or 20, you would give him more... Make inquiry if he sells laptops or just anything to draw his attention.
If you can get the delivery address for a meet up, good otherwise it is difficult. sad

@Precious_baby76, a Twitter user recommended @ultimate_samphi, a phone dealer that supposedly sells Xiaomi phones.

I went to his page, and check through his previous post. I figured since he has been around for a while, he should be genuine.

I messaged the WhatsApp number he left on his bio, I enquired if he has the Redmi 12C for sale at the promo price.

I forwarded her details to my friend, and they talked. He said he does not accept payment on delivery but that he's genuine and can be trusted.

It’s a very simple issue because you have all the evidence so you don’t need to explain. Get a court order to blackmail his BVN via Sterling Bank .

The scammer is using an opay account with probably a fake name. And opay is an online bank without any functional physical office for customers. Also, opay doesn't ask for your BVN registered number when opening an account with them. This means that you can open an account with any number and any name. So technically, the account is untraceable.

I'm still surprised that people can still be this dumb in this era. How on Earth would you transfer money to a total stranger you don't know and haven't met and expect him to waybill phone to you.

He said he's serving in a remote village, he could have just waited till their next break, then move to the city and get it, or better still transfer the money to any of his siblings to buy and waybill it for him. It's much better and safer than trusting a total stranger.
He can still do the needful by sending mail to the scammer bank and also CBN. He just need to add the chats and transaction details

Good day everyone.

At this point, I have no other option than to put this out here, and I pray I get a solution from here.

A friend ordered and paid for a phone and the vendor blocked her instead of delivering the phone.

I saw a post on Twitter where @Xiaomi_nigeria announced a reduction in the prices of Redmi 12C all through August.

First go to opay physical office and complain of fraud and his account will be flagged immediately and placed on pens.Once done u need to write to efcc desk on their website and u will be guided .
Also write to ICPC about this to teach him big lesson .This might take 1month but be rest assured he will be apprehended and u get ur money in full and he will face the govt

A friend has been saving to get a phone, so I forwarded the post to her to see if she would be interested.
She got interested and I asked around for vendors online as we currently serve (we are corp members) in a remote village far away from any city where it is possible to get the phone in a store.
