Ajoself:I see. Research based masters in Canada is highly competitive and it requires a high level CGPA to emerge. I will advice that you keep trying |

Leapp: You need to show funds for flight cost to and from Canada, preferably in your own account, In SOP, you would need to show how the funds used in GIC and paying the fees were raised with documents which can be employment letters and payslips etc 1 Like |

Ajoself: Yesooo, No be small thing at all. Canada universities no plenty like USA which means limited profs. with large number of applicants cold mailing them. Due to the immigration prospects of Canada after study, the rate of which Profs will receive cold mails will be pretty high. So you know, some other Prospective Graduate Students from different parts of the world are also cold mailing that prof. you have cold mailed (Competition). Suggestion I don't know your Electrical Engineering research area or areas for a Thesis-based Masters in Canada but I will suggest you explore more research areas in Electrical Engineering that you vibe or might vibe with. Who knows, you might have transferable skill sets, or have done relevant courses in some other research areas even though it's not related to your research experience, e.g. Your final year project in the University. So that being said, check out Profs. in that other Electrical Engineering research area/areas you haven't checked out, do the needful and cold mail them non-generically. Anything can happen Research areas in Electrical Engineering 1. Power Systems Stability and Control 2. Renewable Energy Integration 3. Grid Modernization and Smart Grids 4. Energy Storage Systems 5. Power Quality and Reliability 6. Microgrid Design and Optimization 7. Power Electronics for Electric Vehicles 8. Cyber-Physical Systems 9. Energy-efficient Buildings and Smart Homes 10. its not just high cgpa, course also matters. highly competitive courses are more difficult to get in. also study gap in education matters. most supervisors prefer students without study gap. oriented: 1 Like |

lyndaoyewole: Well said. Another thing is that, some people put non relevant work experience on their ACADEMIC CV for graduate school application. For example, A Chemistry graduate who is looking for a Thesis-based Masters in Chemistry in Canada and is working as an HR is not expected to put such work experience on an Academic CV. If you don't have work experience related to Chemistry, don't put work experience on your Academic CV 1 Like 1 Share |

lyndaoyewole: Not everyone might have money for tuition, so fullyfunded scholarship via MSC, PHD , POST DOC do come to the rescue. People do get it, though with some hard work. Also, some people have different choices and plans for their JAPA. For example, some people might have interest in Academia, Research etc., the likes of Masters, PHD, Post Doctorate is the best path to actualize that. 1 Like |

exactly. you hit the nail on the head. some courses are so competitive that you compete against asians & indians with perfect grades & even GRE. your best bet is to go for course or project based. or just kukuma go to college lentomac: |
