99% of the current is carried by the capacitor.If the capacitor goes bad,the LED will be affected.

My DVD was tripping off.I tried to fix it myself by changing the stepdown transformer inside and some other parts.It didn't work.So i took it to an engineer .He just change the capacitor and it started working fine.
