If you are earning less than 1 million a month, you are still in Low income.
1 - 1,000,000 = Low Income
1,000,000 - 5,000,000 = Middle Income
5,000,000 - 10,000,000 = Upper Income
10,000,000+ = Elite

Up to 650k is middle income IMO.
Elite is 1.5m and above abeg.

My thought is, a middle income family would have a good model car, mostly taken with loans repayable for up to 4years (average Nigerian banking standards), plus school fees, plus feeding, maintenance and house rents takes away the 650k already. I've been there.

High income earner means you can cover middle income responsibilities and still conveniently pay mortgage.

Four classes
No more middle class
Below 150k - low class
150k - 400k - slightly below middle class
400k - 800k - slightly above middle class
Above 800k - high income class.

These all depends on the area one resides. These are for urban areas like portharcourt, lagos, onitsha, benin, Asaba, Abuja.

For Ibadan, Akure, osogbo , Enugu, Yenegoa, Abeokuta, kano, kaduna, lokoja, owerri. It is slightly less

For other cities and rural areas not mentioned above it is lesser, with 600k you can be regarded as high class

Wait in this Tinubu regime? Anyone earning less than N200k in just existing. Just imagine you buy 100 litres fuel in a month for your gen, that is N65k, your Light bill is another N65k. Then you are left with N70k. Transport never enter, house rent, etc. The only option is to retire to the village
you are still on your generator set on daily bases? Kudo to you

This is a very fair representation of the economic reality of today...!

However, you are being too fair and laughably so... Honestly, Middle income in today's hyperinflated economy lies between 200,000 and 400,000 monthly.

By the time you remove the costs of feeding, transportation, and utilities from 151,000, even for a bachelor, what is left would make you shake your head.

Why should you buy fuel of 65k for your gen when you are not using the gen for business. There is something called "rationality" in economics.
No matter how much you earn, if you are not rational, you will remain poor.

We still have many middle class in Nigeria especially in this Abuja.

Just that some states have more poor people than the other.

1M in Naija (if u live within ur means) is still balling sha, except for things like security, medical etc

Even in Lagos, 800k is big oga. You cut your coat according to your size. Earning 800k, your annual rent shouldn't be more than 2 months of your salary even in a good location. Most people don't know how to manage
abhosts:
It all depends on location of person. 800k is big money if you live in a small town but it is nothing when you live in major cities like Lagos and Abuja.
