It is only in Nigeria that masterplans don't change.

What they drew in 1914 is what everybody will be hoping on, as if na God himself draw am, not man.

I really hope they don't afflict serious pains on people because of original masterplan

I don't think it's fair to generalize that they're into fraud what I think happens most times is overestimation of their capacity while underestimating the risks they will face. At the end of the day when problems occur they face difficulties because they weren't prepared for such
Omo, you can't make it into Fintech without running some kind of coordinated fraud..

Infact I think đŸ’Ŧ most Nigerians will take advantage of any loophole to run some kind of fraud..

Funny enough I have an uncle who has consistently played bet for years with quite a strict personal discipline.

What he does is that every single weekend, he uses 10k to play no more than 5 odds. Just 3 to 4 games. Every single week. No matter what, he doesn't play 2 times even whether the first game cuts or not. And he's has been quite a "success story". Later I would share the screenshot of his betting history. Sometimes he would win 2 weeks in a row and then lose like 5 time, he's won in a whole month 2 times in like 3 years. That's 4 weeks straight.

And he really does enjoy the thrill. Very few people will have that kind of strict personal discipline to overcome the temptation of just sticking to that odds and that amount every weekend.
It's really just sticking to what you can spare and don't view betting as an income source. Your uncle has a good strategy tbvh.

The truth is there's nothing you do in excess that is not bad. We all have our vices, some na alcohol, some na woman, some na betting.

The truth is the wins are sweet. Something about sleeping to 200 cedis in your account and waking up to 10000 cedis e dey hit different

God knows how many times I've tried to do this crypto thing especially when I see "success" stories all over social media

My thinking is to put money I can afford to lose. But how much is money I can afford to lose going to generate for me? Is it even worth the risk at all? I've never been able to go beyond this point.

I end up dropping the idea till another "success" story comes my way.
bwhahaha.. there is something they use to say

"During a gold rush, the sellers of shovels are the most profitable"..

Crypto is the highest risk venturing investment cum gambling one can make..

Their re many aspects of crypto by the way depending on the department of crypto you want to venture into..

Crypto can take you out of trenches and as well can send you into the deepest part of the trench...

The worst mistake you can do is to listen to influencers, they don't love you.. they'd just use you as exit liquidity.. even rug you join if they have to..

Is there a Nigerian FinTech company not running some sort of fraud. I feel genuine pity for people keeping their money with these people. E better to try your luck with Sportybet or Bet9ja at least when you lose you know you selected wrong games
Actually, African , SubSaharan Africa in general have that slight taint.

Another reason Y Combinator insists founders seeking to get VC funding must register their companies in the U.S. before Demo Day so they are subject to regulations.

Flutterwave was complicit too (mostly money laundering) between 2019 and 2022, but after they were fined heavily and severally in the U.S. and founders made to appear in court, they buckled up.

Other VCs like the Boabab Network don't insist on this so the companies escape regulations. And they are hawks too preying on founders with stringent conditions.

Our systems are weak. Even giants like Access Bank commit fraud by making unsanctioned deductions from accounts.

And this is exactly why I struggle to do it.

Maybe later in life when I retire and have money to throw away, I'll be more open to risks.

For now, my risk appetite is quite low.

LOL.
The same network of people control the top tech blogs. They control the perception of everything and what you know about the inner workings of these tech companies.

To raise venture capital in the Nigerian tech ecosystem, there are arses you need to kiss. Like really kiss else it's you against a mountain.

Or better still, don't go against them. Fledging tech founders (especially SAAS) know this but are scared of being victimized.

I'd rather stop there so I don't rope myself in

if not fraud, how'd they survive?

Most of these VC's are notorious of various kinda of A level fraud called inside trading..

That's why one has to be rugged in this space..

You think big VC's like blackrocks , gensler, CZ... These people are what we call market makers and price movers..

Even peeps like musk can decide to rug the whole market with just one tweet..

Why we re catapulted here is even because words got out tesla sold BTC.. they sold months ago.. but these media giants holdled the news 🗞ī¸, till now, maybe they wanted an entry position, hence they unleashed the news and market comes crashing.. when they have filled their bags, boom you'd see one positive news maybe ETF approval that'd send the market green , then they take profit.. rinse and repeat 🔁

The whole market is a fraud bro.. just have to choose your pains

Funny enough when I was into betting few years ago, I remember you and nihilist actively discouraging me from betting.
When I post my "winnings", nihilist would say, oga post the one you done lose, even though he himself too was betting oo. cheesy

But in the long run I think it helped.
I remember you telling me how in your university you guys would even use calculator and stick to a strict pattern of betting to experiment the success rate of betting, you and your friends and when the experiment failed was when you came to the conclusion that gambling actually doesn't pay. cheesy

That was very good advice I must say.
