livebyday: See the way you are crying just because you can't tolerate good news from Yorubaland. If this was from SE, you would have been celebrating and boasting but because it's from Yorubaland, you display high level bitterness. What is tribalism about this now actually? Was anything spoken against any tribe? It's obvious tribalism lives in your body. Try to heal, please. Bitterness will only kill you faster. 3 Likes |

nairalanda1: Has removing subsidy made nigeria a advanced nation? Subsidy for kerosene and diesel have long been removed. How did that improve the fortunes of Nigeria and nigerians? The govt "removes" fuel subsisdy then starts borrowing and spending billions (palliatives) to "mitigate" the effects of the subsidy. Is palliatives not subsidy? |

As a geologist a dont see how we are going to benefit from this news. This is a private mining firm. They mine and export to their own final destination. Tax will be paid to nigeria government and settlement will be given to community leaders. This is not good news. Federal government need to open up a lithium extraction plant where local miners can supply their goods to instead of blacks selling to chinese. The Government sells to them as finished product not raw ore 2 Likes |

Anything raw material doesn't turn out good without being processed or refined locally. We should focus on how to make good use of the Lithium instead of how to export in raw form. |

Rostikol: Its business though. You just need to get a better terms for yourself. But what stops African countries from developing the capabilities to mine their own minerals and process them if that's what they want? Ultimately, its all about making wise business decisions. If you inherited a land with minerals and desperately need fund to develop yourself, you have the option start mining it yourself or to sell to those who have the capacity. |

Rostikol: After they left Uganda what has Uganda done with the lithium? Africans are still making the mistake of not developing their manpower For uganda mind European should come and build power plant that Uganda probably can't afford or even afford to maintain? The greatest victory will be sourcing engineers within Africa to build and maintain this plants But Africans lack technical know how and are not learning the know how 1 Like |

[quote author=Rostikol post=125296845] This is the main difference between Nigeria and some of these African countries like Niger and co. Nigeria has the capacity to leverage these resources IN-HOUSE. Process them and build anything we want. I'm very glad Nigerian and African leaders have said that this LITHIUM of a thing will not be like previous raw materials that were just shipped out raw for a pittance. That era is gone and gone for good. Not quite gone brother. It is why France refuses to let the Francophonie find their own way. They want first dibs on everything that comes out from the ground. So under the guise of democracy, they are pushing Nigeria to invade Niger to protect its resources |

livebyday: How did you arrive at calling Odua group a tribal group? I know definitely that you were not yet born when ODUA investments company was formed. Odua investments company was founded by leaders with foresight, leaders who can provide for today and the future. If not that we now have leaders who only mind their pockets, Odua group supposed to have gone very far in economics matter. All the states that have shareholder status in Odua group supposed not to suffer from the present economics downturn. If the governors of South Western Nigeria can pull their actions together and redirect their views towards driving Odua group like the founding fathers did, we will sing glorious song. 1 Like |
