So you should leave your backyard to non state actors?

How do some of you reason sef.
Who be non state actors? Bloodless coup happened next door, you guys want us to go do what exactly in Niger? Preserve and Restore democracy right - like we are practising democracy. Niger has always had its issue - Nigeria has too many problems right now, you think war is cheap?

PS: We already have ISWAP and Boko Haram so whats new? Herdmen UGM nko? Their closest kin are all saying no to any intervention, only people in the south dey shout for intervention.

Oga - this is not about Tinubu or APC, Dubai that you reside is not a democracy, but you won't swap it currently for Naija, so military intervension in Niger does not guarantee any stability; na so dem take destroy Libya in the name of democracy.

The junta has offered Tinubu an out; they would probably settle 2yrs transition after all we did 8yrs transition with IBB.

Should we still go to war/intervene in Niger? I think with this now - Wagner group would now be answerable to Lord Putin. Tinubu better behave - leave Niger to sort themselves out... Make dem no use our head break coconut.

Russia that embark on special operation in Ukraine because it doesn't want NATO close to his border?

How you people think what's happening in your backyard to your neighbor doesn't concern you still dey amaze me.

The irony of this ur post and the previous one is funny as hell. Russia calls what is happening in Ukraine as special military intervention, but the rest of the world calls it war. Yet u say military intervention is not war.

Intervention doesn't necessarily has to mean war. There has several ways in which Ecowas can intervene in whats happening in Niger without it getting to war.

I do not subscribe to those that say we should leave Niger alone and let them do whatever they want. No reasonable President will just sit idly down and allow chaos to go unchecked on their border.

Till today Ecowas still hasn't sent military into Niger to begin any war.

Some people don't know the meaning of Power show off which basically gives you the upper hand during negotiations.

This one na amala turning .

What people on this thread and beyond have been speaking loudly against is the proposed “military intervention “. Almost everyone against military intervention have always advised that ECOWAS or any other body can intervene (if they must) but not militarily.

Military intervention is what Russia said they are doing in Ukraine and it has led to loss of thousands of lives and properties . The moment one country or coalition invades another country , nobody knows where it’s going to end.

If u look well around this thread , u will still see people clamoring for military action for reasons best known to them even when all fingers point to the fact that we cannot afford another war considering the ones we are already fighting internally .

My initial post on this subject shortly after the coup was that Nigeria May intervene in the Niger issue, but not militarily.

In case you missed yesterday's conference on developing science and technology in the native languages, here are the links for Yoruba and Ibo peoples:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09OXl2rn4fg?si=KzV067YNvrSAuezb

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMW7G4Ycrhk?si=cjeVbXbq_GwPFxRK

It's important that we use our knowledge and profession to promote our cultures and traditions wherever we find ourselves in the world, especially those of us in STEM fields.

Today, India landed successfully on the moon with its Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, making it only the fourth nation ever to accomplish such a feat and the first nation on this planet to land on the moon's south polar region.

One factor that helped the country achieve this laudable feat is the fact that many STEM courses are taught in the native languages in its schools.

For this same reason, India has made key contributions to science and has been rewarded with a number of Nobel prizes in science for its efforts.

What does Nigeria or Africa contribute if not religious noises, useless prayers, and irrelevant debates about fictitious characters?

Topics about fictional characters are of no relevance to Africa. Whether Jesus existed or not doesn't solve any of the myriads of problems faced by Africans.

It's a useless topic just like Jesus himself is useless.

If these topics and noises were about the local religions, it would have even better a little.

Concerning India's latest achievement in the science world, the term, "chandrayaan" is Hindi word for "moon craft". When you promote your native culture and traditions and develop STEM in your mother tongue, the benefits are enormous.

The world will respect and celebrate you, and your race can leave indelible marks on the sands of time.

Unless you can explain scientific concepts and principles as simple as possible in your mother tongue, you don't really understand them.

Late Nobel laureate physicist Richard Feynman captured this idea succinctly when he said, "If you can't explain something in simple terms, you don't understand it."

By developing STEM in the local languages and teaching science in these languages, students can understand many topics in science, connect with these concepts and principles in their immediate environment, and apply them to innovate.

Most students engaging in science in secondary schools in Nigeria and other African countries don't really understand science, even including those in universities, even including first-class and second-class-upper students.

What most do is cramming the topics to pass exams.

Hence, only very few African students can really apply what they've been taught in science classes to solve real life problems.

The ultimate aim of engaging in science is to apply principles and concepts in science to problem-solve, innovate, and invent things.

In the scientific community, no one really cares about how many equations you know offhand or the number of laws you've memorized.

What the scientific community has interest in is how you've applied, and can apply, your knowledge in making the world a better place.

This is why we should do science in the local language and this is why STEM should be taught and developed in the local languages.

Many of African ancestors were great scientists, and some of their works can be developed further by modern-day Africans.

If we do this, we can produce our own Raman (India's first Nobel laureate in Physics) during our lifetime.

There's this connection you feel to the environment, this joy you feel when you understand science practically, especially in your mother tongue.

grin grin grin Thousands are being killed in your country annually between ISWAP, Boko Haram, Herdsmen, UGM we are not able to intervene successfully, but people want to send military to intervene in Niger where no one was killed?

Did Niger intervene in the Abacha years? The military option is not an option.

Oga military intervention is expensive, we are constantly being told the country is broke; we need to kill fuel subsidy, education subsidy ati bebelo. So how would we fund this military intervension?

If na concern; we are very concerned, Akpabio can even send them prayers as well - but not concerned enough to kickstart what we don't know how it will end; cos defo it will not be bloodless.
