Home Office can't crack down on people they never licensed in the first instance naaah Rather it is the beneficiaries like the lady who would get reprimanded cos she's gone against the rules which said - don't pay for COS or job in the UK. All she needed to do was apply directly to the care homes or agency and not give monies to some agent who probably went behind to apply on her behalf to an agency who has now ran out shifts. dustydee: |

Zahra29: Banks ususally ask for reason(s) for the payment, so i suggest that the person select business transaction as a reason then rent payment as a reference |

justwise:It doesn’t matter, as long as cash is exchanged be it a deposit or transfer, the OP won’t get their money back. A similar incident happened to my former colleague but this was in relation to a car sale. The bank told her that she was on her own and advised her to only use PayPal for such transactions. |

justwise: I've been a victim of a scam that involved payment via bank transfer. I thought my bank would compensate me because I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years and although it was hundreds of pounds, to a big bank like them that's peanuts innit lol, but in the end they could only say (in effect) "sorry madam, next time only use credit or debit cards." Lesson learned - now if there's any doubt in my mind, it has to be a debit, credit card or PayPal payment. Bank transfers, like cash payments, have next to zero legal protection. ( unless you report to the NCA or trading standards) |

Good day everyone I am currently in Colchester , UK with a student dependent visa and I have got an interview with an NHS trust in Chester Liverpool area on the 5th September. The job is an IT role with possible visa sponsorship. I will appreciate if anyone can have me on a night stay preceding the day or some alternatives to use as Airbnb will be quite expensive. Thank you. 1 Like |

I would like to ask, how do I make rent payments using credit card or debit card or PayPal? Assuming the landlord insists on bank transfer? Is there any website this can be done through? Thank you. Justwise Lexusgs430 Zahra29: |

You just said Neath for accommodation. Due to the difficulty of obtaining family accommodation in Swansea, some Swansea students live in Neath. As for jobs, they are on indeed it depends on how well he can apply and get shortlisted. Some people go as far as Bristol to work. Everything depends on how smart your friend and his wife are. Knowing how to apply for jobs is a skill itself. Focus99: 1 Like |

bigtt76: Bank transfers are absolutely fine if you are sure of the recipient. It's only if it's a scam that it's more difficult to recover your money. If you have a valid rental agreement, then it should be fine to transfer your payments (use the reference field to indicate what it's for e.g. "May Rent" or set up a direct debit. |

Reminder that from the 27th of August health and care visa holders are only permitted to do up to 20 hours additional work outside their main jobs. From gov.uk: Working after 27 August 2023 From 27 August 2023, you’ll only be able to do up to 20 hours of additional paid work without updating your visa. The job will need to be either: in the same occupation code and at the same level as your main job in a shortage occupation 2 Likes 1 Share |

bigtt76: If your landlord has PayPal a/c and agrees for that method of payment then good else bank transfer will do. Credit card payment will be great if the payment is made via payment website or an app which i'm not sure many landlords have. |

Good morning all. Please I need to seek clarification. I am a skilled worker in UK. My husband brought the children in June 2022 and got is BRP about same time. He went back to Nigeria but finally returned in November 15. We got our car in December and he has been using his Niaja driver license to drive. Now, he wants to do the practical and want to use his car., considering the fact that he can only use his naija driving license for one year. My question is when is the 1yr start counting? Is it June when he first came or November. ? I told him that June will be seen as the date he came to UK not November. Please someone should help me oh. I don't want him to violate the laws Thank you |

Guys please advise We moved out of our 5 bedroom students accommodation in July. One month today. The letting agency said the repair and cleaning cost more than the 1k deposit and sent a ridiculous price list. It's been 2 weeks we replied and sent a reminder to say we disagree with the quoted prices and need receipts and all but no reply. Our deposit was put in a deposit scheme. Please what do we do? |

Good morning house. Please I registered my sister for IELTS exam but made a slight mistake with her Intl passport number ( I wrote 20 instead of 02). The results is out but with her original passport number. Is this a costly mistake and is there a need to rectify it? I would appreciate your responses please. Thank you very much. |
