As $1 is now approaching N1000, what is the mechanic in CBN still doing in office? Where is the $3billion they borrowed to defend the naira? All those who were calling GEJ clueless have become catastrophic in government. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

If Nigerians went about their normal business focusing on the own currency like most countries ' citizens do, naira will not be where it is now. You wake up, you monitor dollar value. You're at work, you monitor dollar value. You're chilling with friends, you yarn about the dollar. Citizens should be productive to boost economic growth. No, many see selfish trading and profiting from trading dollar as good business. Zambians, Senegalese, Ugandans, Indians, Brazilians don't spend every minute of their lives monitoring and coveting the value of another country's currency and they're ok. People think the government can wave a magic wand and naira will increase in value, when a big part of the problem is Nigerians speculating and buying more & more dollars for no particular productive reason. 99.9% of Americans have never heard of the naira and don't care. Yet many Nigerians are obsessed with America's currency to the detriment of their own currency. People should continue. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Validated: Nigeria earned so much money from crude oil during his regime (the highest to date) , if he had managed it well we would not be where we are today. The money was mostly stolen under his watch. We are still reading about Deziani's loot today. Any suggestion that Mr Jonathan was a competent leader is laughable. Mr Buhari came and overborrowed, and over subsidised the economy to the point of near bankruptcy. To think that Nigeria 's net foreign reserve is only around $3 billion after over 50 years of crude oil sales is shocking. Against that shocking backdrop, the current government doesn't even have the resources to defend the naira. Naira could fall a lot further. |

DeLaRue:After 8 years, GEJ is still your own focus. Irredeemable you are. If APC had diversified will you Ned to compare oil earning under GEJ vs APC? APC only diversified terrorism and hardship. |

DeLaRue: Very stupid supporter of a clueless criminal You hailed your useless drugbag when he ignorantly and arrogantly floated the naira that was being heavily defended and told us how the move would bring down the exchange rate, but now, having seen opposite, you've shifted to blaming innocent Nigerians for lamenting about the problems you guys caused Don't you know a lot of things in Nigeria are influenced by the exchange rate, as we don't produce anything, unlike the countries you cited above?? |

ambale:Dont mind that APC agent. There is a reason people prefer importation than trying to produce locally. Farmer are kidnapped and extrorted. Industrialist too. SMEs too and public servants too, so who want to attract kidnappers when there is no security. It is better to hold you portable dollar, import with it and make some profit. |
