First of all, John 3:16 is simple English and nothing about it suggests he died for only a certain elect. God loved the "World" (not the Israelites) that he gave...this simple statement gives you a glimpse of the real intention for doing what He did!

In other words His love for the World mad him give Jesus...and it further emphasizes that " WHOSOEVER BELIEVES" - Whosoever simply mean "ANYONE" it doesn't attach any bias to it.
