Whether the school made a mistake or not is irrelevant. All that matters is that the school, as of today is standing by the fact that they issued the certificate and that he graduated from the school in 1979. Everything else is just cacophony.

“She was neither president of the university in 1979 – when the certificate was purportedly issued – nor was she president in 2022, when the replacement certificates were issued,” she said.

The lawyer also expressed dismay that both certificates bear different letter fonts and logos of the university.

The University was observing the rule of innocent until proven guilty. Document forgery is a crime. The University will continue to identify Tinubu as its student until either the American Court or the Nigerian Court rules that he presented a fake document.
The University's statement doesn't mean that Tinubu has been cleared. That is the duty of the judicial systems in America and Nigeria.

Atiku case is far from Tinubu did not attend or graduate from the school. Atiku's case is more about who did the school admitted-identity, gender and citizenship?
In the process of the court trying to unravel that, the school will now be forced under oath to affirm they issued those discrepancy filled, error laddened certificate to Tinubu.
