Critics are saying that streaming platforms have come on board and are now pumping money into the industry and that the Yoruba aspect of Nollywood is playing catch-up. What can you say about that?

She responded well & accurately..

We own the industry. Go back to research. The industry belongs to the Yoruba people. If you go back to research, you will hear from people like Hubert Ogunde and Ade Love. I don’t want to go into details. But, if you go and research very well, you will discover that Yorubas own this industry, we started this industry. We messed up at some point, but we are not playing catch-up. We are there already. Now, everybody wants to shoot a Yoruba movie.

Technology became better with time and more especially,Yorubas like to project their language more than anything.
That's the point. Nollywood is not about projecting language but making money. Igbos commercialized acting and that's the meaning of Nollywood

Smh. Is that the lie they gave you? You don't know nada. Nollywood is the name given to Nigerian indigenous films industry. That means indigenous films by Nigerians, produced by Nigerians and transmitted to private homes and shown at cinema.

While you were hyping Living in Bondage in the east, several decades before then had been Nigerian films that were block busters that you never knew because such technology which had gained ground in Yorubaland had not reached the East. Nobody in the whole Eastern Nigeria has even seen let alone watch TV until later.

Television started in Yorubaland at a time the rest of Nigeria and Africa had never seen or watched TV! While the Yoruba were producing films and other contents for TV, the technology has not even reached your side and other parts of Africa.

It's completely fraudulent to now attempt to insinuate Nollywood started when you started watching TV long years later. The Yoruba films being beamed on TV then started Nollywood. You should be grateful to those Yoruba pace setters of Nollywood.

You are babies to Yorubas in business sense if that is what you want to argue on.
Even as we speak,Yorubas have most of the highest grossing movies..
Don't even compare your little or maybe medium business sense with that of the high Yoruba business acumen.

Home videos did not start Nollywood. It was TV that started Nollywood.
This is why ,till date, no single Igbo film even none of those from upper Iweka, can match any of Baba Sallah's Films.
You don't know because you are ignorant to think Nollywood started with home videos or home video production started in upper iweka. It's not true.
The Yoruba will not teach you the real nitty gritty of these things if you are not humble.

They will just watch you. In fact, Aisha said too much. Nobody takes those upper iweka films serious here and overseas. They are cheap and don't even last long. Yoruba started and still own Nollywood

Na those igbo village films be the real Nollywood known outside Nigeria not those rubbish Lagos films that has no African content. This is similar to UI and UNN in those days. Aisha is even schooling them for free when they should be paying to recieve this kind of knowledge.

Everything about entertainment in Africa, from the first TV station to the first stadium etc, has its root in Ibadan, the heart of Yoruba. Thank you Aisha for the free education you are giving them.

You can never rewrite history you shameless, useless criminal...Nollywood started when Igbo film-makers began recording their movies on VHS tapes!

These are the best Nollywood movies ever.
All by Yorubas..

Did you know that Nollywood is the world’s second-largest film industry? Thanks to impressive storytelling and premium production qualities, Nollywood films are considered one of Nigeria’s major exports.

This is seen in both their international recognition and heavy revenue. In 2021, the industry was worth $6.4 billion, contributing roughly 2.3% and $660 million to the country’s GDP in 2020.

Here are the top 5 highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time.

1. Omo Ghetto: The Saga
Released in 2020, Omo Ghetto is a comedy directed by Funke Akindele and her husband, Jjc Skillz. This is seen in both their international recognition and heavy revenue. In 2021, the industry was worth $6.4 billion, contributing roughly 2.3% and $660 million to the country’s GDP in 2020.

Here are the top 5 highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time.
