I just used your referral link successfully and got a message saying ive been granted £1,200. Waiting for the card and the £25.
Great. The £25 should come for both of us after you get the card and make your first transaction.

Guys please advise

We moved out of our 5 bedroom students accommodation in July. One month today.

The letting agency said the repair and cleaning cost more than the 1k deposit and sent a ridiculous price list.

It's been 2 weeks we replied and sent a reminder to say we disagree with the quoted prices and need receipts and all but no reply.

Our deposit was put in a deposit scheme.

Please what do we do?

No gree oo, I just collected a good percentage out of my deposit dew weeks ago. We've been on it since March this year, the tenancy deposit scheme came in to the matter. Luckily we had picture evidences and the check-in/ checkout documents sent by the agent also helped.

We maintained that most damages were consistent with use. Landlord maintained he wanted all our deposit. After all dragging he says we should let go of half of the tenancy,we still no gree. We agreed to let go of £70 (wasn't a good idea).
Tenancy scheme stepped in, first deducted the £70 and said the disagreement is now based on the remaining amount. We later lost about 1/3 of the money.

My lesson, next time I won't let go of shishi. I do my best to keep the house nice and lovely during and esp after tenancy so why do I have to let go ofy deposit

Deposit scheme

On this, I helped draft the email below and so far, I have had 100% success rate from people I shared with. Let the student send this to the council ccing the partner.

Good evening,
My name is xx, a full-time international student at xx University and my partner's name is xx.
I reside at xx. I had initially requested a council tax exemption as a full-time student but was told my partner is a liable party for council tax because he is not a full-time student. We received the attached bill to this effect for the period xx 2022 - xx 2023 wherein it was split into xx equal installments.

However, Article 3 of the Council Tax (Exempt Dwellings) Order, SI 1992/558 provides that 'A dwelling is exempt from council tax if it falls within any of the following Class N: a dwelling which is either:
(a) occupied by one or more residents all of whom are relevant persons;
(b) occupied only by one or more relevant persons as term time accommodation.

A relevant person means:
(i) a student;
(ii) a student's spouse or dependant being in each case a person who is not a British citizen and who is prevented, by the terms of his leave to enter or remain in the UK, from taking paid employment or from claiming benefits or (iii) a person to whom Class C (school or college leavers) of regulation 3(1) of the Council Tax (Additional Provision for Discount Disregards) Regulation 1992 applies.

From the foregoing, please note that I belong to category a(i) I am a student and my partner belongs to category a(ii) he is the spouse of a student. We are both non-British citizens and his visa prevents him from claiming benefits. Subsequently, we qualify for the 100% council tax exemption.

Furthermore, please see below links citing cases whereby 100% exemptions were granted to student dependants by the Court:
https://www.casemine.com/judgement/uk/5a8ff72860d03e7f57ea8dcf/amp
https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/law/local-government/65852.article

We look forward to your kind response..

Councils dread court cases most times as it does not make sense to be dragged to court for £150/m tax.

I have a work colleague that has close or if I'm not mistaken above that numbers. He brags about having so much credit cards and how he's got one each for different hangout spots and restaurants where he frequents. Infact, he has all of them on his google wallet so he doesn't go about carrying physical cards. Did i believe him ? He showed me and i got tired of watching him swiping each and bragging after we got to about 17

Well, some people see it as being financially organized. According to his words. His argos card is for argos shopping, his tesco card is for tesco, sainsbury card is for sainsbury, aqua is for drinks, capital one is for Chinese meals, amex is for vacations. Quoting my colleague.

If I have a big purchase, I simply apply for another card and put purchase on card....... Enjoy 24 months interest free period + S75 protection (then clear balance before interest free period is over).......😜

Thank you very much @Lexusgs430
Now I am spoilt for choice on the clippers.
Please do you have a personal preference for either? I’m finding it tough to make a choice.

The big clipper is for the head, whilst the smaller clipper is for the friction (aka shaping).......😂
