I've searched all over Google but I haven't found anything about Martin Luther regretting the split of the Catholic Church on his deathbed.

I'm beginning to think it's just an urban legend Catholics tell each other to feel better about their horrid history (before you come for me, I'm a Catholic and I do not support Martin Luther too. I just feel his bravery was instrumental to reforming Europe not only religiously, but politically as well).

According to our priest, the devil tortured him on his deathbed and he asked for a priest to confess to but he didn't get one until he gave up the ghost. I don't really believe this. I want to see a real historical record like his other works and sayings.

He didn’t regret it because he got married like he desired but was prohibited as a Catholic priest, and more importantly his patrons (the elector of Saxony and other German elite) became richer because they weren’t sending money to Rome anymore. The money the church extorted from the peasants stayed in Germany.

That’s the reality of the reformation.

Martin Luther was a politically minded man who wanted a share of the power and glory that had been hoarded by the Catholic Enteprise for over a millenia. undecided

2. It's quite possible given that it ain't easy to shake off the level of indoctrination that was they Catholic ideology back then. But as for the claim that the devil tortured him, that one na folk tale. undecided

Ask MaximumSide, your priest lied to you to shield you from knowledge as JW blindfolded MaximumSide and his brethren.
