I think these are some key facts to note before you dish your advice (s). Here we go;


-I am a 23 years old male.
-I am the only son and eldest in a family of 2 and my dad is late.
-I am in 100 level (sponsored by my mum's relations) doing a 4 years course but sorry to say this, I don't rate school at all.. just there for the certificate (even though the course is highly rated)
-I am a pump attendant on a 25k salary (night work 7PM to 6AM) with one night off in a week.
-I have a nice USA used HP laptop that is laying idle in my room and my strong Tecno camon which can be used to learn some valuable skills.
-Lastly, I have the zeal to learn an online skill that can be very profitable in 3 to 6 months time and would stand the test of time in a long time to come; but I don't know which, how or where to start from. I seriously need to add another source of income (online) as this my current work is exhausting coupled with my schooling. No rest at all.


Pls my elders in the house, I sincerely need your advice at this critical point in my life. I don't want to make a grave mistake of not learning an online skill and be left out in the digital word. I don't want to continue forever in paid employment. It's no fun. I want to help myself and my family. I don't want to explain tire..

The zeal to learn an online skill is one thing but the obstacles you will encounter is another.

You can try programming ( don't learn by hitting the books and learning scripts and simple syntaxes, pick a project maybe a simple webpage, a simple app like a calculator etc) that's the fastest way to get rolling but you will learn that, that too is very challenging and need a lot of deep patience cause when an error is made lol...

Then you can try forex: three major things to learn is the technical analysis, then fundamental analysis, and psychological analysis. I arranged these three things from the easiest to the hardest (But note that having all these skills with little money will still make it hard to succeed as a forex trader, your mind/psychology will never adapt to the idea of loosing money no matter how you try to convince yourself, if you don't have that money to willingly loose, If you can't accept loosing money & I'm sure you can't especially at this stage in your life, you can't make it as a forex trader). That's why I will advise anyone looking at this option to learn it as skill but a secondary skill, have a primary source of income. I can talk at length about forex but that's for another day.

You can also learn online marketing skills, this need alot of promotional skills and it involves understanding demand and supply based on what particular type of product or service you want to offer and to what type of consumers/customers you're targeting.

Now there are many other skills out there like content creation, video editing, teaching if you have a very valuable skill that you can teach you can enlist on Fiverr, Upwork is now difficult, you can still visit Fiverr or Upwork to draw inspirations lot of ideas there etc.

I remember when I was still starting a few years back, it's always a gradual process don't expect instant results. I too am still figuring out my own puzzle, some ideas worked some didn't, lost alot of money due to the fact that online marketplace is a place to meet all sorts of people and challenges that will actively try to take money out from you till you can't give no more.

UX design is a good skill
Python is a tool, one tool can't achieve much except when paired with several other tools, don't know if you catch my drift.
I will suggest UX design, keep at it for 12 months constantly learning/practicing. If you can be consistent for 12months no matter what you choose to do, you would be very good at it.

You can try crypto blogging. I am also a student and crypto blogging have been saving me for over 2 years. I bought my current phone and laptop from my earnings, and also a large part of the money I used for my final year project came from here also, not to mention that I also feed myself using this as well. I make around $60 monthly and that's because I'm not putting much effort into it these days because of school stress but ideally, I normally could average $100 monthly. You can learn trading of financial market assets like gold, crude oil, currencies online. If Nigerian youths can learn and master it, their story will surely change. You need three things to succeed in it: 1. smartphone, 2. internet, and 3. knowledge.

If you have the first two, I can give the third in two to three weeks with after training ongoing mentoring. Life is good if you have information and use it it well.

If you have the design on pcb, you can sell the raw files or even the pcb plates like the pictures i posted. Then whoever buys it can now solder the components and complete the device to sell.
