The presidency on Monday gave reasons why the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has not been charged to court.

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale said the federal government is still conducting investigations into the activities of Bawa while in office and will soon charge him to court upon the completion of the investigation.

Recall that Bawa was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) on June 14 after his suspension by President Bola Tinubu. Nothing has been heard about him since then.

Many lawyers and rights groups have spoken against the indefinite detention of Bawa without charge, saying it is an abuse of his fundamental human rights.

Lolzzz.. So you didn't conduct your investigations before picking him up. Now since you are still c9nducting investigations, why is he still being detained? How about Emefiele who was arrested, detained, arraigned in court and still in detention after the courts granted him bail

The biggest mistake that guy made was taking a bold step to probe Tinubu for having bullion vans moved to his house on the eve of an election. Now, Buhari has totally forsaken him for trying to be competent.

We need a sane president to strengthen our weak institutions and allow those who man them do their jobs. The president shouldn't have the powers to hire and fire every head of an agency because they always abuse the system.

Conducting investigation after arrest? May it happen to all of you in this evil and satanic government. So much impunity, and lawlessness under this hopeless regime.
