And they’ll say Buhari was excellent in infrastructure, when they’re nothing but white elephant projects with no impact on the economy. |

Greattha:You know how it works. Just create a project, even if it is not viable, just to loot. Remember my fellow schoolmate whoes dad was in ministry of defense back then in the early 90s, he will give us gist of how at the end of the year, unexpended budget allocations have to be blown to finish the money. Same thing my paddy that I know when he got job in Lagos finance ministry during that lawyer governors tenue. Same story. That guy within few years of working there dropped about 50m cash money for a turnkey house to be built for him. Young guy. Back then chicks he just met he will dash 200k. It was same thing creating unviable contracts etc just to make sure the budget is finished at the end of the year. They then share big money. But when Ambode came in. Streamlined and blocked all the loopholes. Sapa set in. Money did not flow like before. It was basically salary my paddy lived on. |

Before we swallow the Bloomberg report lets do our personnel investigation. Looking at the two plans below, confirm that this was a very good design linking the Airport to the commercial city centre. Upon opening in 2018, only the section between Abuja Metro Station and the Airport was operational, with an intermediate station at Idu. The remaining nine stations were originally scheduled to begin operations in 2020.

The main reason for the ongoing closure is damage suffered during the shutdown, according to the state-owned company appointed to run the system in May. A project manager involved in the railway says thieves have stolen crucial equipment such as communications cables, copper wiring and signaling gear, and repairing or replacing that will take at least six months once work begins: who go buy the equipments these thieves steal?? either they want to melt them down. |

Greattha: They did feasibility studies, this is a very good project. The design that has been shared on this thread and demonstrates that the railway links the airport to Abuja City Airport t the city centre. Over the years, new settlements have been developed all over Abuja, and there is now a requirement to expand the project to integrate the poor sectors of the city. This is a brilliant project; maintenance and operational capital might not exist to operate the railway.. The yellow section has been completed. As usual, Bloomberg is just ignorant about Africa; they should have posted the map of the railway light shown below...

After this last elections that took place in Nigeria, I have stopped blaming any political party or Government for the problem Nigeria is facing. THE PEOPLE are the main reason why Nigeria will remain in the same state. After Jonathan government did very poor, and people voted in APC, any reasonable person will have never allowed APC or Buhari come for a second term if indeed they want a new Nigeria. But no, Nigerians restored APC again, and to top it up after another 4 years of hardship, you still have some Nigerians who can openly say they they voted for another 4 years of APC with the current President. As you lay your bed so you lie on it. Alot of people wish the very best for Nigeria (My self inclusive) but Nigerians themselves don't want the best for themselves. Actions they say speak louder than words. I can tell you for free that If elections were to hold again tomorrow, some people in the name of tribe, religion or what ever reason they think is right will still put this same people in office. If the people change their ways and are united on a common goal (THE INTEREST OF A BETTER NATION) then we will start to see real change. |

Solsix: This is what I keep telling people, they do these bogus projects just to show Nigerians that they're working, without actually tackling the real issues. As soon as Nigerians see, Fly over, Rail and some Sub standard road they start salivating and screaming he's working. Tackle insecurity, the economy and corruption and see Nigeria flourish. 2 Likes |

garfield1: Ayade practiced the APC system of government (most especially the northern Nigeria version). The 0.2% infrastructural development Ayade did was when he was still in PDP, his vision of bakassi deep Sea Port and Super Evacuating corridor was when he was still in PDP but immediately he switch to APC the first thing being notice in the Metropol was the once cleanest state became the dirtiest, stated, Calabar Carnival started receiving 0.5% sponsor from the state in so much that the main venue of the carnival walk left stadium to Mary slessor. |

worksmart: Rubbish! The incompetence is in the Bloomberg article which should have focused on the poor maintenance of the railway and not its implementation, Western nations are always trying to undermine the Chinese relation with Africa, and the project was completed within 4 years on time on a small $500 million loan. The project was a brilliant and well-executed project that was started by the OBJ Government, delivered by GEJ and commissioned by Buhari. The attached image illustrates the master plan of the project, Phase 1 in yellow has been completed and the integration of the international airport into the main city centre. The railway has to be expanded to incorporate the poor sectors of the city.

Thats what you get when you appoint someone for a duty and you leave him in the hands of God. No proper supervision talk more of inspection on general management! Now is another opportunity to get things right; not minding the bringer of the message, but the message itself! |

The FCT minister is aware of his challenge I believe, am optimistic he will look into it soonest. May the Almighty grant him the strength to overcome. Moving forward, the stakeholders of the railway project in Abuja be invited to explain why the system is not functioning as anticipated and proffer better ways to address the situation. Equally, they should be held accountable for any backwardness if clear explanation is not given. Nigeria my moherland. |

correctguy101:Because from the womb you as a black man has been programmed to think only about you. When you give out, u make the world know or you give out selfishly. You believe you have a reward. Even your kids that you train, you had hope they will look after you when you get old. My dear, that's the black man's mentality. Have you ever thought of how you will retire? Planning towards it? If you go to grocery stores where I lice, uou have small section where shoppers drop in anything they feel like after shopping for the hungry. They look for no glorification. You will not even know somebody put in something. There're days kids donate small token for the hungry. It's a ritual you grow up with and you just continue with it. Children are encouraged to give out what they don't use anymore in schools. Little children. They will just tell their parents. Even though there are food and cloth banks, these kids are encouraged to see giving as serving the society. People that did outstanding deeds are honoured. Kids are encouraged to pick dirt and put in designated bins. Fastwords to 60yrs later, you will see wrinkled oldies doing the same. You know why, cos they were programmed to do that from cradle. It's all about money for the black man especially Nigerian. Nigeria will never be OK with such mindset. Tomorrow, if you are in their shoe, you will behave exactly like them. It's psychological. 1 Like 1 Share |
