The Presidential Election Petitions Court has admitted certified copies of academic and work records of President Bola Tinubu tendered by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, reading different names that he registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The documents, which were tendered on Friday, include a B.Sc. certificate from Chicago State University, an NYSC Discharge Certificate, and a Mobil Nigeria Oil Plc certificate of service.

The PDP had brought the documents through their subpoenaed witness, Mike Enahoro Ebah, Esq, who noted that the documents were “purportedly” obtained by Tinubu but bore the name ‘Bola Adekunle Tinubu’.

Led in evidence by PDP counsel, Chris Uche, SAN, the witness also tendered forms EC13 and EC9 nomination forms and the letters written to INEC as attachments.


Counsel to INEC, Abubakar Mahmoud, Tinubu, Emmanuel Ukala, and the APC, Lateef Fagbemi, all objected to the admissibility of the documents.

The witness also tendered academic records from Chicago University, a copy of the subpoena served on the Chicago University, the original academic records and degree certificate, original admission letter, and original transcript from Southwest College to the school Tinubu attended, given to Chicago University with the gender referred to as Female.

He also tendered a notarized judgement of the USA for criminal forfeiture of assets of Tinubu and the cover note authorizing it. Furthermore, extracts from a Guinea passport and the certificate of compliance for Tinubu were also presented.

Stop quoting irrelevant issues. All these cases you've been brandishing about are not the same with Tinubu's own. The authority you quoted go and read them very well you will know it differs in many degrees. CSU has been subpoenaed, the name Tinubu is bearing, the sex, the date of birth and the date certificate issued are all in variance with what Tinubu submitted to INEC, just because we live in banana republic where judgement goes to the highest bidder, you still want the physical presence of the school and not what the school gave that is in contrast with Tinubu's identity.
Thank God Tinubu himself has owned up to the error but he could not proved it was error from the school because of negligence. The petitioner has gone to the school through his witness and the school has graciously furnished them with Tinubu details and that has been submitted at the tribunal, which in the first instance you think it didn't happened as you were bragging no document in contrast to what Tinubu submitted. The Bola Tinubu we know is a male, his date of birth is 1952 and not 1954. He is also known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu and not Bola Adekunle Tinubu. All these inconsistencies were obtained from the issuing authorities and you still expect them to stand before the judge physically and say this is this and that. Your argument is belated and not the same with all the authority you're attaching to it.

Do you know the implication of such huge human error to the image of the school? Their licence may be revoked and that is why no name was mentioned and the registrar wasn't assertive. You guys should try and be using common sense. The petitioners never claimed Tinubu didn't attend CSU but claimed there were varying degrees of errors in his certificates. Tinubu might have gotten the certificate through the back door, as they hurriedly produced it for him. This case is liken to the case of Mnesoma who truly sat for JAMB but went fortifying her record.
So, you people should stay within what was required. It's not about him attending CSU but certificate errors that is not in tandem with the subpoenaed CTC obtained from the same institution.

That's the bone of contention, the one he submitted with INEC was full of errors and he himself has owned up to the error but claimed it was errors from unknown clerk. The clerk is yet to have name. Even the registrar of CSU that went to the court as witness went on oath but still claimed it may be a likely error from unknown clerk. The school knew if they owned up to the error, their license is on line for such huge human errors and those concern will be in to spend their days in jail.
