EU To Launch Civil-military Mission In West Africa by Cmeo(m): 7:11am On Aug 30, 2023
The European Union is set to launch a new mission in West Africa in the fall, a combined military-civilian operation aimed to prevent instability triggered by jihadi groups.

EU foreign ministers will announce the start of the "civil-military" mission at a meeting in Luxembourg in October, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper has learned.

DW reports that the mission in the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa will be with police and soldiers deployed to Ghana, Togo, Benin and Ivory Coast. The governments of Benin and Ghana have already sent formal invitations.

Senior EU diplomats who are familiar with the planning told the German paper that the mission stems from "concerns of the EU that jihadist groups could extend their activities in Western Africa from the Sahel region to the southern coastal countries off the Gulf of Guinea."

The worst mistake ECOWAS made was allowing an old man with drug case and fake certificate and also notorious election rigger become it's chiarman.

Now no respect for ECOWAS. Young Africans are now seeing that the colonial masters are more interested in their gains rather than the masses. No regards for the democracy anymore.

Niger coup, now Gabon. More to follow

New mission in West Africa because na them be our father?

EU better respect themselves and never see the other side of the African youths in general. If we have not been meddling into you people's affairs, then please stay out of our issue, we can handle it ourselves.

All the issues you people have been involved with have only escalated the situation.

Thanks but no thanks

The same people that are begging the federal government to liberate them from Ekpa dictatorship as he succeeded in his coup

Today, our SadEast people are slaves to Ekpa dictatorship πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

They are under military rule as they can't go out whenever they want. πŸ˜€πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

They want Nigeria to be like Beeefraaa where someone will be dictating for us πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜€
