Country when fight food naim get power o.

America and many western countries have passed hunger like for life .

Egypt is digging a man-made river in the desert to reclaim 2.3 million acres of land, and turn it into agricultural land at a cost of $5.25 billion.

It will make up 30% of fertile land in the country.

It will stretch across 114km, making it the world's longest man-made river.

It's pathetic.
The truth here is that this country is too heterogeneous to br homogeneous.
Any effort by anyone whatsoever to change the status quo of things will be met with stiff resistance. It's a pity that evil triumphs over good in Nigeria.

It's gone way beyond ethnic sentiments and bluffs, religion colouration has been added to the fray too. Have you seen why we can't progress as a nation?
Any idea or suggestion is subjected through the prisms of both ethnic and religious lenses and you already know what the outcome will be.

In Nigeria, a project like this will:

1. take too long to plan as various regions fight over which zones the project must cover

2. lead to huge lobby for appointment as the MD or Chairman of the agency involved as it will be considered very 'juicy'

3. cost at least twice the cost in Egypt

4. not be completed on time.

After the government commissions it:

1. we will find out it is not going to work for another year, may be two

2. when it finally starts 'working', it will not work properly or at full capacity due to one problem or the other

3. the agency in charge will claim they need money to make it work properly

4. National assembly will pass huge budget allocation every year to fix it knowing fully well it will never truly be fixed completely

5. The agency's Chairman, MD, and board members will award inflated contracts to themselves and their family members

6. National Assembly committee members will collect their own.

To cut a long story short, the project will never work at full capacity.

10 years later, Egypt will be way ahead of Nigeria.

Like now, Nigeria's president then will be running up and down begging foreign investors to come and invest in Nigeria.

Foreign investors will read the reports on Nigeria, and say...nah, we would rather go to serious countries like Egypt, Kenya, Rwanda etc

The story of Nigeria.

You don't really blame anyone, the hardship undergone by an average Nigerian is enough to make him/her lose their senses.

In 2017, during a visit by the Prime Minister of Egypt to a piece of the desert, he dreamed of turning it into a new coastal capital.

Here was the result after 5 years of hard work in 2022.

The city is called New Alamein City.

In 2017, Egypt was not among the Top 10 African countries with the best roads. They were ranked 107th in the world.

In 2022, they were number 2 in Africa and 28th globally.

Egypt built 7,000km of roads at a cost of $211 billion in 8 years.

This reduced the rate of road accidents by 41%.
