Employees should not be made to pay these fees. It is against the law. The employer would likely be slave drivers. So they should beware. advanceDNA: |

In the spirit of giving back. I got here through Cotonou (anybody saying Cotonou is over hyped is not worth engaging in an argument with, it's the best decision I've made recently especially in terms of traveling, no regrets) Flew Air Maroc for half the price I saw in both Lagos and Abuja, had one stop over in Casablanca and total flight time was 12 hours (can't be any better especially when it's not BA or Virgin) Landed Heathrow and was interviewed by the guy at booth 34 (dude should be a Pakistani as most of them were or Indian). Me: Good evening Oga: Passport please (didn't reply my greeting) Me: Hands over passport Oga: What are you in the UK for abi where are you coming from? (can't remember which he asked first) Me: Cotonou, Benin Republic and I'm here for work Oga: work as what Me: care work Oga: Can I see your COS (same time asking for where I'll be working) Me: handed over my COS and mentioned my employers name and city Oga: how much did you pay? Me: (wasn't surprised cos I expected it) I didn't pay any money except the one I used to get the requisite documents and application Oga: do you have any family here and what and what is your daily duty as in job description Me: I answered (the girl beside me was asked the same question almost at the same time and her voice was as loud as a microphone) Oga: you know how to collect your brp right? Me: yes Stamps me in.... Dude didn't smile the whole process, lasted for about 4 minutes.... 14 Likes 1 Share |

dupyshoo: Lol...u are actually quoting home office law?? This is funny...... tell that to the small business owners already overwhelmed with taxes and still has to pay home office ridiculous fees just to employ available staff to run their business.... 3 Likes |

America001: This question of "how much did u pay" is fvnny and almost useless ....Are they expecting someone that actually paid to confess to them? Home office technically created this loopholes for employees to be exploited... Funny thing is, they can block it or at least tighten it from the employer end.... but No!! ...They want the revenue to keep flowing in while they look for ways to harass immigrant and send them back.... How much did u pay koor... How much did u throw away niii 5 Likes |

Are you seriously in support of employers exploiting job seekers? I am struggling to understand your point here. I can't seem to get what is so funny about my statement. Is what they are doing legal? Why don't they try to tell British citizens to pay whenever they apply for jobs? advanceDNA: |

Hello house. Great news!! Visa alert for my children (child dependent visa) Biometric date: June 28th (for everyone) BRP collection mail: 12th July (MA and husband) I made the difficult decision to travel leaving my family behind so that I could meet up. I have cried until I couldn’t anymore. 4 paid emails 10 paid calls 2 escalations (4th August, 19th August) Last paid call on 25th August, this call was funny because after narrating everything that has happened, we were both quiet for about 30 seconds and the person at the other end said “that’s not right , a child doesn’t have to wait so long for this. I will not give you a timeline , I am sending an urgent email as we speak. Expect a feedback very soon” Visa alert this morning at 9am! Honestly I am so happy. Before heading to work today I prayed again. God has done it. To my fellow May and June applicants I use myself as a point of contact that yours will be approved ASAP. Have a great day everyone. 14 Likes |

Okay keep paying and enriching others. So, because people are paying for COS, it is now legal? "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" austino677: |

dupyshoo: Lol.....U can come to wateva conclusion u like that i ddnt say....opinion is free... But If u open ur eyes very well u wont have to struggle to see why this exploitative loopholes exist in the first place.... Whats my own with the exploiter or the exploitee?? Nigerians are used to paying extra 5k or 2k to get what they want... In this case... the exploitee wants to go abroad badly and doesnt mind to be exploited by the exploiter, who is trying to avoid charges for filling vacant positions most bristish citizens wont do....doesnt it look like a "win-win-win" situation .....because home office is also part of the win, raking in revenue which is selfishly their only focus because they know right from the start they created this exploitative windows... 1 Like |

My Nigeria passport has expired since and I am not in a hurry to renew, so I did not and will not pay for fast processing. I am trying my best in my own little way to encourage people not to pay for COS. austino677: |

Hello, Gurus in the House(Esp. those already in the UK). Please, can someone on a Skilled Worker (Care) Visa in the UK with *NO SHIFTS* be allowed to go for IT Trainings(Programming, Cyber Security, Etc), get Certified and Seek for Jobs in the IT Sector, afterwards. With the aim of switching their Visa? And, Are they also allowed to get the SIA Badge? With the Care Visa? @AdvanceDNA your response to this, will be well appreciated. Thanks. |

Numero123: What u do with with ur free time as a work visa holder is totally up to you...yeah u can decide to study more, u dont need a tier 4 visa to study......and u can also go for IT trainings and certifications as a legal resident.. .. and yes if u have your IT qualification u can get 20hrs for week IT jobs in addition to your full time care job without new COS or updating ur visa... but if u want to get a full time IT job to replace ur full time care job...the IT firm or wateva company must give u fresh COS for a fulltime IT job... As per SIA licence....u are a legal resident so there is no law stopping u from applying for SIA.. ....but getting the SIA licence another ball game because of the many requirements involved....one of the requirments is 5 years criminal record check... u never stay long for uk...u gats go back to lagos....and there are still many more.... .....furthermore.....the job u want to to use the licence for is another issue .... u will need sponsorship unless u don convert by marrying a citizen... 2 Likes |

Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by Numero123: 6:51pm On Aug 31, 2023 |
@AdvanceDNA, Thank you so much for your Prompt and Apt Response. You’ve really been helpful to everyone following this thread! God Bless You! The Major Reason for wanting to update the Visa, is lack of Job/SHIFTS from the so-called “sponsored” Employer. 3 Months in the UK and no single Shift. Also no Part time Job forthcoming as a result of lack of “UK experience” in the Care Sector. Time is ticking. Hence, the reason to opt for another Sponsorship. Please, What are the Odds of securing a Full time IT Jobs/Sponsorship after undergoing Trainings and Certifications. Make person nor go Spend Money wey him nor get for wetin nor go profit am. @AdvanceDna. I know say I don too stress you sha. But na Man you be! A Very Good and Selfless Man! Tuale! advanceDNA: |
