Announcement from Funded Trading Plus CEO "I am sure you will no doubt have heard that MyForexFunds (MFF) has been required to cease trading following intervention by the regulatory bodies in the US and Canada. At this stage all the information we have is from their statement posted in the early hours of this morning. I know this news is sending shockwaves through the community, but I want to reassure you that we have sought extensive legal advice on our business model, and how we operate. We want to be clear with you that we are not under the scope of the same action due to the way the business is configured, and the use of a regulated broker to provide market access. Importantly we do not have detailed knowledge of MFF's business practices to determine whether they were doing things that we simply would not do. As always we seek to operate within the limits of what is acceptable in law, and we do not push the boundaries of this. Our aim is to provide a sustainable platform on which to grow our community. Please do not be alarmed by MFF's announcement, we will keep you updated with any information as it becomes available. Thanks everyone" Simon CEO Funded Trading Plus 1 Like 1 Share |

A whole almighty MFF. I was about considering getting a second account. Financial regulations in US and Canada is something else that's why most brokers don't want to do business with them. I hope they resolve this asap. This is a big blow to the prop firm community. Na like this funding talent take close shop that year o |

US and Canada always go overboard in a bid to show their concerns over the finanacial mechanisms of online trading specifically as it relates to their citizens, and in doing so they take off the wheels of these trading organizations through their stringent and burdensome regulations that, by nature, make operating these institutions a cumbersome task. This is why US and Canadian residents are usually exempted by the majority of brokers in the world. I wish MFF had its base in Australia. 2 Likes |

Geovanni412: Australia's laws regarding online trading are more laxed enabling freedom of operation which translates to a wider scope of choices for their customers. For example, one of the laws brokers in the US must adhere to is the maximum of 1:50 leverage ratio for US residents. This is to protect them from unnecessarily losing their investments and making sure that brokers do not take undue advantage over them. That is fine but very restricting as you would need more funds to open a position as compared to leverage ratios like 1:100, 1:200, 1:400. You get. Secondly, it is mandatory for brokers to make sure that anyone who wishes to open an opposite position must first close the previous one. For example, you have a buy trade running in profits for like 3 days but want to take advantage of a juicy sell trade which fits your parameters for opening a position and you know it is just a temporary move, you may do that with other brokers not in the US but if in the US you would be required to first close your buy trade before opening your sell trade. It is the law. Australia, as far as I know, don't have those laws. These countries you mentioned are great as well but with the reputation of Australia as a continent and country in one, standard facilities and robust financial regulations it is the ideal place for setting up trading companies comparatively. 3 Likes |
