I'd suggest you send them a screenshot of the mail you got when you registered last year May indicating the date you received it, then throw in some words about your school resuming soon and how this whole misunderstanding is affecting your admission and future plans

And as mentioned above, plead your case that you have been waiting for over a year and looking forward to resuming school this winter semester.
