“May We Not Labour In Vain”- Despite Peter Obi’s Presence, Labour Party Fails To Clinch A Single Seat In Edo LG Election (See Full Result) In the backdrop of the recent Edo State Local Government Election, the results have proven to be a tough pill to swallow for the Labour Party (LP), especially after the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, graced Edo with his presence in the days leading up to the election. While campaigning for the party, many expected his influence would give the LP a significant boost, but that wasn’t the case. CONTINUE READING It’s quite ironic that during Peter Obi’s tenure as a governor in Anambra State, local government elections weren’t held for seven consecutive years. But his active participation and campaigning in Edo’s LG elections couldn’t secure a win for the Labour Party in any local government. This is a local government election and in this Nigeria, local government election is conducted by the state government through the state electoral commission. Labour party participation in the election was meant to create more awareness for the party and put the party in a vintage position towards the 2024 Edo governorship election 20 Likes 6 Shares |

It is not an easy task to defeat an incumbent in Nigeria's democracy election. For Peter Obi to even came third in the rigged presidential election is by the resistance of the people who want a change of government.Alas,Tinubu still have his way through bribing the INEC chairman to falsify results. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Ofunaofu: Even with what you just said about the Labour party, you won't tell me you are comfortable with this result as I am shy to call it performance. If there has been a level plain ground I am more than certain that LP would win one or two seats in Benin city. 4 Likes 1 Share |

What many Ignorant people fail to understand is that Obidients are not necessarily Labour party members. We wanted a change at the federal level (reason for being an Obidient). A friend is vying for a local government chairmanship election in one of the state soon & he is contesting under APC. As an Obidient,I'll rigorouslly campaign & vote for him 1 Like |
