Is anyone stopping anybody from buying flight tickets for flights heading to the airport?

Your inferiority complex is always on display!

Other South Eastern states are not in competition with Ebonyi State because there is even no basis for that and Ebonyi leaders who have a grasp of that, know better but riff raffs would always think the world just started.

How did you people treat Ebonyians when they were under your respective states? With dignity and projects right? Akpa amu

Nnaa ehhh, ara agbaara onye ara hia.Thought you said you're not onye Igbo, why you come dey para like this for Ebonyi matter abi U wan tell me say Ebonyi is not an Igbo state?
D person wey build d airport never even use am, na you wey dey carry big hoe for shoulder dey go farm dey agitate so.
I ignored your last mention of me, and here you are again!
Nobody is looking down on Ebonyi but I just stated the fact.

There were other viable airports patronized by our Igbo brothers and sisters due to proximity to their villages or something. Enugu is the closest to Ebonyi, amongst the states that have airports in the East. No one travelling to Enugu will land in Ebonyi, talkless of those going to Imo, Anambra or Abia. Is that truth hard for you to grasp?
Now,Ebonyi,as we know,is a small state. Even if we have Ebonyi people flying home, no airline will want to fly the few of them alone because it isn't economically viable. How many tourist destinations do you guys have as to attract tourists who come by flights? Mention any international market like Onitsha main market, Ariaria or even Ogbete, that exists in Ebonyi so as attract business men across Africa into Ebonyi?
In the light of the above few points and more I still maintain the ground that the airport will not function to capacity unless your state government does the needful by setting up things or infrastructures that can attract people to the state, otherwise, the airport will only function at Christmas season when some Ebonyi people will FLY home.

U are free to quote me again.

When I was working at communicable disease control and research centre in teaching hospital abakaliki, I was shocked to realize the number of Northern Cross River people who visited the hospital for patronage.

Every northern cross riverian from Obudu, Ikom, Ogoja, et cetera which are prosperous and educated people throng to Abakaliki for patronage in Medical services as well as Commerce at the Abakaliki International Market which is the size of Ariaria in Aba.

Go and check it out. It has ambulance services also.

So don’t be deceived that Only Ebonyians will use it. Ebonyi airport is closer to prosperous towns in Northern Cross River such as Obudu, Ikom, Ogoja, than any other airport. It is also closer to them than Calabar airport .

Look at map of cross river state, figure out where calabar airport is and you’ll find its close to Atlantic Ocean than northern cross river which is closer to ebonyi.

Also, Abia state university students in uturu, staff of uturu, and travellers of uturu origin in Abia state will use that airport in Ebonyi as it is closer than Port Harcourt airport and Owerri Airport.

Dispute me on that.

Minus prosperous Ebonyians. Several non indigenes staff of David Umahi federal teaching hospital will make use of Ebonyi airport, likewise the David umahi university of medical sciences federal staff, Alex Ekwueme federal university non-indigenes, federal university teaching hospital abakaliki non-indigene staff, national obstetrics hospital abakaliki non-indigene staff, and lots more will use that airport.

People who don’t know jack about Ebonyi are the ones to complain as if the governor is stupid as he built it, whereas if you look well, it is these expatriates in federal institutions in Ebonyi, as well as the northern cross river air travellers using Enugu airport, that they are angry is being taken away from them.

Sad news. Ebonyi is in ruling APC party, and that airport will easily be guided to full functionality.

All enemies of Ebonyians will look for another excuse to insult the best airport in ALL of South East.

Btw that airport needs to be renamed to an Ebonyian’s name and not Chuba Okadigbo Airport. People from the state where it is named after is insulting it the most.

It better be renamed David Umahi International Airport.
Finally your dream has come true
What your father failed to do (give you an Igbo blood)
At least online you can pretend to be part of a superior race like Igbos

Must feel good abi?

Trust it's nothing compared to being real Igbo in real life

Now you're talking like a responsible person. All those insults and abuses from you were not necessary, for starters. Now you've given valid points on why you think the airport will bloom when in use,and I most respectfully agree with you.
Peace ✌️

Hehehehe......you name monuments mostly after our dead heroes. Dave Umahi is still alive and kicking abi U wan make d man kpai now? No nah.
For your education, the Enugu international airport was named after an Ebonyi man, the Legendary Dr. Francis Akanu Ibiam. Clannishness won't help our region.

runway was built with concrete, now it is to be renovated with asphalt (coal tar) in few months.

Yeah, concrete is harsh on tyres and poor with aquaplaning.

Not renovated. Upgraded.
Concrete is fantastic sub base material but not the nicest finishing material.

Ebonyi has very poor ground conditions and Umahi's decision to use concrete for roads and pavements all those years ago was a good one.

All state own airport functioning well should be upgraded to international standards

Gov should know how to generate money most are lazy

Agriculture
Real estate
Transportation
Tourism
Educatuon
Health care

If properly managed can give each state minimum of 10b monthly
