Interesting thread. It’s appears most people are just giving their opinions based on their own personal expectations and not necessarily what transpired at the Tribunal. If I may ask those who think it should be a re-run to please give a simple analysis of how the tribunal should/would arrive at this decision. For those who think Obi would be declared the winner, kindly give us your own simple analysis also, how that decision would be arrived at, bear in mind that Obi’s petition is against Tinubu and not Atiku. I am asking this because this is the most illogical of all the expected outcome. For the reason that it is 1. either Obi is asking the whole election be nullified and a complete rerun be ordered between all candidates (after disqualifying Tinubu maybe), A rerun would have to be with all other candidates present, because the election that returned people as 1st, 2nd or 3rd would have been completely nullified, 2.or Obi is saying even with this election as it is, he should be declared the winner because he got more lawful votes that both all other candidates including TInubu and ATIKU. Of which I have failed to see at anytime during the PEPT proceedings where Lawyers for Obi have either propound this argument or even attempted to prove it 3 Likes 2 Shares |

barinedan:What is new? Peter Gringory Obi ran away from pdp then manipulated his way to the Labor party’s presidential candidate in 5 days, Atiku manipulated his way to becoming the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party with enormous maneuvering. |

seunmsg:I doubt that . If it was frivolous , they wouldn’t wait this long to pass judgement . However I think Tinubu will carry the day and INEC made a scape goat . Because the judiciary is as corrupt as all the other arms of government . Question is if Tinubu’s election is voided , what happens ? Who will take over pending re-run elections ? Is there a provision in the constitution for such a scenario ? Legal luminaries should explain |
Re: Presidential Election Tribunal Judgement: What Is Your Prediction? by obailala(m): 3:59pm On Sep 04, 2023 |
mp3ree:Doing Nothing! i.e. if the Tribunal ignores all the clear points raised and just outrightly dismisses the case, that would set a dangerous precedent. Without delving too deep, the 25% in Abuja is a clear basis to call for a run-off, the constitution was very clear on that. If the Tribunal ignores that, then it would be setting a very dangerous precedent which would rubbish the integrity of the Judiciary and the constitution. |

Tinubu has gone for G20 meetings in India with the Masters of industry in Nigeria on his entourage, those stooges are just wasting their time in court. |

There's nothing there to predict, Obi won the election convincingly, but the Nigerian factor will take place with its so-called technicalities. |

Halo22:Peter Obi can never win presidential election in Nigeria, the North will never vote for him, as proven in the just concluded election. The Judas was only used to dilute his master’s votes Abubakar Atiku, by contesting against him, leaving easy way for Tinubu to win the presidential election. Obi is a curse to Pdp & Atiku, a blessing to APC & Bola Tinubu. |
Re: Presidential Election Tribunal Judgement: What Is Your Prediction? by Baatunde(m): 4:08pm On Sep 04, 2023 |
It is definitely not frivolous, especially considering all the technicalities that have been thrown up, I suspect however that judgement has been delayed this long deliberately to make it look serious. In any case , Peter Obi having once been a beneficiary of the judiciary has strongly maintained from the beginning that he has confidence in the judiciary, why the panic now? blaise26abj: |
