When those with two can't see spiritually {Matthew 13:13} Jesus fulfilling the prophecies written about the Messiah {Matthew 5:17} the blind in Israel could sense that the prophecy regarding how Christ will walk through their land as a mighty God {Isaiah 9:6} is undergoing fulfilment! What Does the Bible Say About Tithing? |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by MaxInDHouse(m): 3:46pm On Sep 07, 2023 |
SeniorMan715:When God established the nation of Israel as His organized worshipers there are millions of people throughout the earth faithfully searching for the face of the true God but there was no organized form of worship so the nation of Israel stands as the organized people worshiping the one and only true God. For things to take place decently and by proper arrangements {1Corinthians 14:40} God gave the descendants of Jacob (Israel) a law that one out of the thirteen tribes should officiate in the temple so when sharing the inheritance this tribe (Levites) were left out and God commanded the remaining twelve tribes to make sure that whatever gain they make should be divided into ten places and one part is to be brought for Levites as payment for their sacred service, the Levites also must pay tenth part from what they received and keep it in the treasury for the benefit of widows, orphans and alien residents in the land so widows, orphans and alien residents are exempted from paying tithes. When Jesus arrived as Christ he didn't use the Levites to commission his own group rather he used people who already have their own personal businesses. So each and everyone of them must work and never depend on anyone to feed their families. That's why Paul in his letter to the Hebrews who are practicing Christianity in the first century: For since the priesthood is being changed, it becomes necessary to change the Law as well. Hebrews 7:12 In Christianity Jesus (Our new highpriest) didn't initiate tithing so there's no need practicing it among his disciples! 3 Likes 1 Share |

If someone commits sin against God and reliazed his errors, sincerely repent and turn a new live... Pray to God for forgiveness... will he still report himself to the Elders.... |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by MaxInDHouse(m): 2:39pm On Sep 11, 2023 |
SeniorMan715: Reporting oneself to the elders is just like getting help to overcome the wrongdoing they are not the One who will forgive you but they can give you PRACTICAL ADVICE that will help so that the wrongdoing doesn't repeat itself. Most people try to play smart with them but that's the worst thing to do because they don't have any power to know if you're telling them the whole truth but one thing is sure it's what you told them that they will pray to God for guidance from Holy Spirit to help you out {James 5:14-15} so the forgiveness from God is based on your heartfelt repentance as you stretch out your hands for help to overcome a wrongdoing! 3 Likes |

MaxInDHouse: Anyone reading this might want to wonder how this so called "nation of Israel" is what God established, especially as we know they were constantly at war and were sacked and plundered and its people enslaved lots of times and today practise apartheid. They definitely were not organised, least not enough for the different factions of Samaritans and Pharisees and Sadducees etc not to exist. MaxInDHouse: The only difference between tithes and donations is the congregants willingness to pay and the proportion of what they pay. Organisations will collect which they can or go bankrupt. Can't believe I left this your thread alone for so long Max. 2 Likes |

SeniorMan715: “Sing Out Joyfully” Grant Us Boldness SONG 73 Grant Us Boldness (Acts 4:29) 1.As we tell about the Kingdom, As we witness for your name, There are many who oppose us And who try to bring us shame. But instead of fearing men, It’s really you we must obey. So we beg you now for your spirit; O Jehovah, hear what we pray. (CHORUS) Grant us boldness as we witness; Help us overcome our fear. Give us confidence and courage So that all the world may hear. Armageddon draws ever near, But until that great day is here, Grant us boldness as we witness. This is our prayer. 2.Even though we may be fearful, You remember we are dust. Your assurance to support us Is a promise we can trust. Give attention to the threats Of those who persecute and blame. May you help us all to continue As we boldly speak in your name. (CHORUS) Grant us boldness as we witness; Help us overcome our fear. Give us confidence and courage So that all the world may hear. Armageddon draws ever near, But until that great day is here, Grant us boldness as we witness. This is our prayer. (See also 1 Thess. 2:2; Heb. 10:35.) 4 Likes 4 Shares |

Aemmyjah: It's normal for people to gather and lay their dead to rest in a graveyard, some people use to entertain their guest depending on what they have. My own grandma is not a witness she told me when i asked her why our people always spend so much after burying the dead. "Partying after burying a dead person started not long ago due to what people often notice at the burial of a wealthy man or the parents of a wealthy man, the rich man's friends will come to pay a condolence visit regarding the death of his parent whom they knew during the deceased lifetime so where wealthy men of timber and caliber converge you will see drummers singing their praises to get money from them and beautiful women loitering around them, hunters will also bring roasted meat and palm wine tappers too will bring their wines for business and the rich men will patronize them, this often happen when a rich man or a mother or father of a rich man is been laid to rest that's how people who doesn't even have enough to eat in their homes began doing the same but it wasn't a custom because death is a bad thing" As related by my grandma. She told me all these because they informed her that i have joined a bad religion and that i will not come for her burial so she asked me two questions: Will you continue visiting me while i'm still alive?I told her that i'm there to see her so she knew they lied. Will you continue bringing me gifts?Instantly i reminded her of the gift i just brought for her so she realized that was a lie as well. So she asked: But what exactly is wrong with your new found faith? So i told her that after she's been buried i will not spend a dime for anyone because i have done what i could for my grandma when she's alive. She was so pleased that's why she began telling me that what people are doing after burying their dead is unnecessary and waste of resources since the dead can't eat or drink anything they're doing after her. 3 Likes |

Hope in Jehovah.—Ps. 27:14. Jehovah has given us the marvelous hope of everlasting life. Some hope to live forever in heaven as immortal spirit creatures. (1 Cor. 15:50, 53) Most, though, hope to live forever on earth in perfect health and happiness. (Rev. 21:3, 4) Whether we look forward to everlasting life in heaven or on earth, our hope is precious to us. Our hope for the future is guaranteed because it comes from Jehovah. (Rom. 15:13) We know what he has promised, and we know that he always keeps his word. (Num. 23:19) We are convinced that Jehovah has both the desire and the power to accomplish everything that he says he will do. Our heavenly Father loves us, and he wants us to trust in him. When our hope in Jehovah is strong, we will be able to endure trials and face the future with courage and joy. Today's Daily Text! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Drawing near to God is good for me.—Ps. 73:28. Understandably, learning about Jehovah starts with the basics. In his letter to the Hebrews, the apostle Paul referred to basic teachings as “the elementary things.” He was not belittling “the primary doctrine”; he was comparing it to the milk that nourishes a baby. (Heb. 5:12; 6:1) But he also urged all Christians to keep moving beyond those basic teachings and to learn the deeper truths of God’s Word. Have you developed a hunger for the deeper teachings of the Bible? Are you willing to keep growing, to keep learning about Jehovah and his purposes? For many of us, though, it is a challenge to study. What about you? At school, did you learn to read and study effectively? Did you find study to be enjoyable and rewarding? Or did you conclude that you are not good at learning from books? If so, you are not alone. However, Jehovah can help you. He is perfect and is the best Teacher there is. Today's Daily Text! |

Happy are your men, and happy are your servants who stand before you constantly, listening to your wisdom!—1 Ki. 10:8. News of the peace and prosperity enjoyed by the Israelites under Solomon’s rule reached the queen of Sheba. That sovereign from a distant land traveled to Jerusalem to see the situation for herself. (1 Ki. 10:1) After inspecting Solomon’s kingdom, she said the words above. But the conditions under Solomon’s rule were just a taste of what Jehovah will do for mankind under the rule of His Son, Jesus. Jesus is superior to Solomon in every way. Solomon was an imperfect man who made serious errors in judgment that eventually brought hardship on God’s people. Jesus, on the other hand, is a perfect Ruler who makes no mistakes. (Luke 1:32; Heb. 4:14, 15) Christ has proved that he will never sin or do anything that would harm his loyal subjects. It truly is an honor to have him as our King. w22.12 11 ¶9-10 Today's Daily Text |

Who will separate us from the love of the Christ? Will tribulation or distress or persecution?—Rom. 8:35. As Jehovah’s people, we are not surprised when we have to face trials. We realize that, as the Bible says, “we must enter into the Kingdom of God through many tribulations.” (Acts 14:22) We also know that some of our problems will not be completely solved until we are living in God’s new world, where “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Rev. 21:4) Jehovah does not shield us from trials. However, he does help us to endure them. Note what the apostle Paul said to Christians living in Rome. He first listed a number of trials that he and his brothers were facing. Then he wrote: “We are coming off completely victorious through the one who loved us.” (Rom. 8:36, 37) This means that Jehovah can make you successful even while the trial is running its course. w23.01 14 ¶1-2 Today's Daily Text! |

We . . . gain life through him.—1 John 4:9. In the late 19th century, a group of Bible students led by Charles Taze Russell began an intensive study of the Scriptures. They wanted to know the truth about the value of Jesus’ sacrifice and how his death should be commemorated. Today we benefit from their research. How so? Our eyes have been opened to the truth about Jesus’ sacrifice and what it accomplishes. (1 John 2:1, 2) We have also learned that the Bible holds out two hopes for humans who please God—immortal life in heaven for some and everlasting life on earth for others. We draw closer to Jehovah as we consider how much he loves us and how much we personally benefit from Jesus’ sacrifice. (1 Pet. 3:18) So like our faithful brothers of the past, we invite others to join us in observing the Memorial according to the pattern Jesus set. w23.01 21 ¶6-7 Memorial Bible reading: (Events after sunset: Nisan 9) Mark 14:3-9 2 Shares
