Adunnishugar: I think you got the best advice already. You need to realise that your Canada challenges will not stop at just getting PR. If you are overwhelmed now and can't drive yourself farther to achieve your goals, then you need to ask yourself if you'll be ready to drive yourself even farther when you face the typical Canada challenges that people face on the daily being in Canada. Let's be honest, applying for PR, whether by learning French to improve your scores or doing a second master, is the easy part of this Canada PR journey. Being and living in Canada itself is not even that easy, forget all the paparazzi. How far will you push yourself to get your desired job? How far will you push yourself to save in an economy that just wants to continue taking from you? How far will you push yourself to bear the loneliness that comes with not seeing your family members you left back in Nigeria for months on end? That push you is what you need to start giving yourself now. I know people who have combined their jobs with learning French and increased their scores. They are often the ones best prepared for the challenges Canada offers. The ones who complain day and night are often the ones who got the PR on a platter and thought life should be easier from there. 7 Likes |

TimofCanada:Ontario tech was at 473 last draw. You might get it next draw, make sure you have included it in your choice of province while submitting your profile. |

Honeytee007:F1 -f3 can still be used to add a second certificate. You don't need to write all ACCA level. WES still give positive evaluation for f1-f3. Need study resources and guild, reach out below |

Hi everyone, You can boost your CRS scores with two degrees if it'll get you closer to the draw scores. here's how it works, Basically you apply to a polytechnic for an HND programme similar to your first degree course of study, you'll automatically be drafted into a Pre-HND programme. Your BSc transcript is requested and waivers are given on similar courses already undertaken at BSc level, after this a National Diploma is issued to proceed with an HND. Send your Degree and National Diploma to WES and get evaluated for 2 degrees. Goodluck. 1 Like |

NuCypher: Thank you so much for the motivation and advice. Moved to the uk just two years ago and I’m a bit familiar with the challenges faced when relocating to a totally new country, as you pointed out. I was second thinking continuing with French because I thought by the time I would be fluent enough to pass the exams I would be closer to getting ILR here in UK. However, I would continue to give it my best, because Canada still seems like the better option to me, and french is looking like the only way. 2 Likes |

Adunnishugar: You have gotta be strategic in your planning. How long do you have before your get ILR? You can consider doing both. Start the journey for Canada and also work towards ILR. I did something similar and I got EU passport and also PR. Travelling with EU passport + PR card is stronger than travelling with a Nigerian passport + PR card as I have witnessed. Plus it is always good to have a back up plan whilst you can. You have a 2-year head start, ride on! Depending on your age, there is absolutely no rush. These 3 things should be your priority: 1. Learn French 2. Process PR 3. Process UK passport In between, learn a lot about Canada, learn about the job market, life in Canada, learn French. Get your UK drivers licence (you can exchange for a Canadian G drivers licence easily). Work on Canadian friends and family that can tidy up an address you can call a second home. Start preparing links with financial insitutions in Canada. Join facebook groups of the cities you plan to live in Canada. Also get all the certificates that are needed in Canada for your job. Network on LinkedIn. You will be surprised what you can get from years worth of networking. I see many people fail to do strategic planning for Canada. UK is a good buffer to plan before moving to Canada. In the end, it is your call. There is so much you can do in parallel with getting your French certifications. If your French is solid, there will be more options for you and your family. All the best whatever you decide. 14 Likes 1 Share |

TimofCanada: You must have the "Minimum Funds Required" for a minimum of three months before you submit your application and then throughout the immigration and permanent residency process. 1 Like 1 Share

Hello. Please I have a question. I am currently in Canada as a student but I want to apply for permanent residence from now. This is the situation, the CV I added to my application has all the jobs I have ever worked at for the past 10 years. It's 6 jobs in total. I have recently updated my CV to just reflect 4 jobs with no gap years at all. This means I consolidated job A under job B for example. In my EE profile, can I state that I worked at job B For 3 years, even if it was for 2 years? Or do I stick to the original CV job outline and years I used during my study application. |
