@ mercy and coy
Is UBN a good buy @6.50,k?
* Titan Trust Bank already acquired UBN 💯% and paid take-over price of N7 to minority shareholders.
* Many have collected their payouts and finished chopping it or diverted it to another stock self.
* We don't know Titan's plan while UBN is still being traded on the exchange.......but...
* It may be delisted at any time or change name

** I'll rather advice you stay away from Union Bank and carry your funds to another stock where you'll have peace of mind.

Oh well
In my humble opinion, I don't see anything wrong in the stocks you bought if you have the plan to wait them out or if you're a long termer.
SUGAR, Fidelity, Transcorp are good.
Taking risk in OANDO is equally not bad if you already weigh your options, knew the risks involved and you play safe. Many loaded this same stock @3/4/5/5.50 even 6.
In NSE, one can never say Never.
We've seen the worst performed best (or exit as the case may be) and..... best becoming a laggard or give little returns on investment or even stagnant.
Examples plenty, but make I stop there.

I'm really surprised the 25kobo interim dividend didn't move Fidelity shares as expected
Usually banks' stocks don't respond immediately to fantastic results and mouthwatering dividends. So don't expect Fidelity to start making 10% daily just after this result and interim dividend. It will happen gradually but not in a smooth upward curve.

If you have the money, buy as much of Oando as you can.
But you have to be patient until at least next year. The gain will be massive when they declare their results for FY2023
Oando has had some governance challenges in the last 10 years or so in the board room (management/shareholders), SEC troubles, forex losses and interest on loans etc. that affected their performance in the past.
They seemed to have turned the corner with the declaration of profits in FY2021 and acquisition of ENI/NAOC which could be a gamechanger. Also, a look at the share prices of its peers on the NSE....that should tell you that OANDO can potentially sell between N50-100 in the next few months, especially when the buyout offer is rejected at the AGM ordered by the court.

Anyone entering Oando or transcorp should have some expertise or be ready to be burnt if you are in a hurry for profiting

Someone once said Trancorp will go from around 4 Naira 400 or 500, I don’t remember the exact number but it was so absurd I couldn’t control myself but call their bluff!

He said, a company valued at 100Billion+ will grow 10,000% and no one here raised any concern until I called them out! Btw, the only catalyst for making this absurd call was because Otedola was buying the stock!

But the reaction I see here everytime someone says Oando will grow 1,000% is surprising. Hopefully Oando can prove the naysayers wrong!

Oando has been a bad boi for years ooooo

LOL. Someone valued Nestle at 617.7, but I will even review it downwards due to the company's huge currency risks, despite the fact that it generates good profits and profits were projected to double.

Nestle Nigeria was loaned a total of $250 million by Nestle SA between 2020 and 2022, secured with a negative pledge on the company's assets. After revaluing its foreign currency denominated loans at 820 naira to the USD, the company recorded 124 billion Naira foreign exchange losses.

The foreign exchange losses are likely to increase in the annual reports in December as the USD is over 900 and counting. Dangote's sugar will also have its 80 billion Naira losses reviewed upwards.

If the Naira keeps depreciating, it would be smart to sell these stocks before report season and buy back lower after.

The foreign-denominated loans are now a source of problems for some of these companies. LOL

Really, nice try.I hope you have way housed enough to sell back to them lower. No one has ever been able to time the market. Besides those companies can source dollars from government approved windows and not from aboki

Very good points to ponder. Most of those companies that are exposed to foreign exchange losses may still file negative reports in their Q3, though minimal this time around compared to their Q2. It is the banking sector that will still sustain and build on their half year reports.

Thats the importance of diversification. But on another note, you may find that companies in the same sector have not printed similar results. Dang sugar books fx losses but nascon flourmills and bua didnt. In the downstream sector, Conoil, Mrs oil etc recorded impressive result while the likes of Totalenergies, Eternal oil etc booked fx losses. Its only the banking sector that have printed consistent fx gains within this period thus the need to have a mix of all to avoid general loss.

I didn't time the market in my post; I made an observation and drew a conclusion.

Dollars can be sourced from a government-approved window, but the naira is on a free float.

The naira's value can go both ways based on market forces.

Those who seek to buy a stock during full bid are the nicest people in the stock market because it is them who help to sustain the bid and prolong the daily 10% gain to the profit of those who entered before the full bid started. Don't discourage them please.
