I'm yet to hear anything about Dangote's refinery

You were not listening, it was used to get petroleum importing license. He already got it. Move on

What's the difference now?

Tinubu must perform to earn himself second tenure otherwise, nothing for him.

The current hardship is inevitable after reckless borrowings of buhari government. Nigeria was spending money it did not have.

Economy recovery is not always easy as we are at the initial stage and the situation is expected to improve before long.

Bro I really don't care, this is clearly apc's doing not only buhari. Alot of tinubu boys were in the senate when he was doing the borrowing. You guys are quick at pointing fingers to run away from the truth. All am saying is if tinubu happens to bring the refinery back to life let him also reduce the price of fuel when the price of crude oil goes down. The main factors that determine inflation are price of fuel and exchange rate. If he is able to do that I will be very happy with his government

A great step in the right direction. Maybe it will be an overkill but imagine if work is ongoing in all 4 of them at once. Magical!

December isn't far off and achieving this deadline will be a great boost to others lying fallow. Only a matter of time before the subsidy fraud dies a natural death.

how was fuel subsidy a fraud?

if you say fuel subsidy was a fraud, then there must be fraudsters or was fuel subsidy a fraud by itself?

who are the fraudsters involved in subsidy fraud?

why have they not been identified, arrested and prosecuted?

[quote author=Etfash post=125692467]I spoke with one of the representatives of the companies working at the Warri Refinery today as well.

A colleague of mine is also heading the EIA project of the Lagos)Abeokuta and Benin/Asaba highways which have now been concessioned by the FG. The bolded below is the message from him. You can complete the form if it affects you.

https://ecobullion.com.ng/ . Click on any of the two highways that applies to you. Thank you🙏🏽.

Only one response... wow. Guess their are few people on Nairaland that plight those axis... Please we need help on that road... its getting worst everyday, especially during rainfall.

Fuel price can not be determined by the government unless it influence the price with subsidy which is no more.

The current fuel price reflects the market forces of demand and supply.

Revitalizations of our refineries will bring about reductions in price of fuel.

Tinubu is under heavy pressure to perform or be thrown out. He has more opposition than supporters in the last election.

The votes for him were less than the votes against him.

You can never learn the truth from this government

Even when you have eyes to see the works going on there, I guess you're naturally programmed to hate good news about the country. Not you alone though, you and many of your fellow gullible Obidient sore losers, you all are nothing but cynists. But against all odds, Nigeria will rise again. Whether you all want to benefit from the good of the land is up to you and your evil wishes.

Well that is exactly what am waiting to see. Remember the money used in repairing the refinery was also borrowed so let's see how he will reduce the price and also pay their debt. The same refinery they have spent trillions of naira to repair its funny sha

I understand your point but at this point you and I know that tinubu is in control of the judiciary theres barely a thing obi can do about it cos they will give the same judgement at the supreme court. It's left for him to make the country work and everyone need to manage and that is the reality on ground theres nothing anyone can do about it.

That's it bro... no one should expect anything from supreme court.

also expecting anything beneficial for the masses is highly unlikely.
we just have to manage and move on.

the only time we had a leader that understands was in OBJ, Goodluck, yaradua would have but his health.

APC has been a disaster to the economy.

It is sad that Nigerians are so easy to deceive.Government should stop spending money on these refineries. Billions of USD have already been spent on them without results. After the rehabilitation, the refinery may work but for how long? Government has no business running refineries and other process plants, especially in a country like Nigeria. Production should be left for the private sector. What government needs to do is to improve security and infrastructure and encourage the private sector to build more refineries so that Dangote will not be a monopoly in the Downstream sector. Portharcourt refinery and other FG refineries should immediately be privatised.

The PHRC rehab work started more than a year ago. I have worked as part of the team for more than a year

The unfortunate is that we have many pessimistic individuals who always doubt government actions, project and distribute fake information.
Put in mind the complete refurbishment is in phases because the refinery has more than one refining facility. We have Area 1,2,3 ,5 and PPU.

The level of work would have gone far and by now should have started refining but the election unpredictable situation made most of the contractors to demob and mob after the election results favoured the ruling party.

Remember Atiku and Obi promise to sell off the refinery if they win the election. The Italian giant Techimont had to reduce the rate of work to avoid being cut in the Nigeria election bruhaha.

God shall grant our nation a final solution to importation of petroleum products.

There was a recent press release on the value of imports in Nigeria for Jan - June. The total imports for PMS was put at 1.2bn. Divide that by 6 months, we get about 200bn per month spent importing PMS. Now NNPCL said they've been subsidizing petrol at a rate of 400bn per month.

The big question is, what are they subsidizing that with a value twice the product itself?? As per why they haven't been brought to book, it's Nigeria. It's a criminal enterprise. That's why we must fight to uproot the system, if not for ourselves, for our dependents.
