Most notable European conflicts are resolved through a process that starts with written suggestions. It may be time for Nigeria to show maturity and revisit the Biafran question. So here goes my thoughts. Maybe someone is reading.

Referendum: The National Assembly is always calling for hearings on constitutional amendments. Biafran agitators can key into this when next it is called. Remember it is a marathon not a sprint.

Geography: The Biafran geographical extent will be the current 85 LGAs in south east geopolitical zone

Concessions to Nigeria: Biafran negotiators will be willing to concede the following for a smooth transition;

1. The president of Nigeria will remain the nominal head of state of Biafra (just like King Charles is the head of state of Canada and Australia). He will be represented by a Governor-general and the country can always replace this. The government of Biafra will be led by the PM.

2. Biafra to continue to use its own version of the Naira.

3. Biafra to sign a treaty with Nigeria to never support any group outlawed in Nigeria.

4. Nigeria to organise the first Biafran election just like UK organised Nigerian first election in 1953.

5. Self-rule to first follow for a period of 8 years before total independence is granted.

6. All assets and liabilities to be given to Nigeria before total independence.

Future relationships with Nigeria Biafra to join ECOWAS and adopt its protocols.
Nigeria to allow Biafra use rivers and water ways that border both countries.
Biafra and Nigeria to sign a perpetual peace treaty of No Air or Sea blockade.

Advantages for Nigeria
1. Since it is only igbos who agitate to leave Nigeria, the rest of Nigeria can then move on without us in peace. No dispute.
2. Nigeria becomes a colonial power.
3. Those who are willing to kill for Lagos can now rest easy as their 'enemies' stop being Nigerians.
4. Since Niger Delta is not included in this Biafra, oil is not a factor.

It's not just Biafra that would have this form of government, but each of the 6 regions, every region becoming autonomous, but under a single defence and foreign policy federal government, like it happens in Russia, China, and many other countries.

no other region is demanding that.
Biafra is asking to be an independent Republic with its own passport and sovereignty. The rest of Nigeria can continue however they see fit, no dispute.

Yes we want Biafra because of inequality.how can Hausa , Fulani and Yoruba be rotating the presidency among themselves since 1967. That is the reason why Igbo want out of such union

Nigeria has never shown igbos love. Not now, not before. Nigeria has taken so much from igbos, including dividing its lands, drilling its oil, killed its people in millions and insult us every election year.
Pray tell, how has Nigeria shown igbos 'secret love'

If that is the case, how come Igbos voted massively for Atiku is 2019? You did despite knowing the incumbent is also a Fulani man.

Biafra did not start in 2015.
Re: How A Hypothetical Biafran Republic Can Work by Kenneth4u205(m): 1:29pm On Sep 12, 2023
Because the other major political parties features president and vice president that have already tasted power multiple times. PDP has Atiku and a vice from a tribe that hasn't tasted power .

You are not serious about Biafra. Had Peter Obi won and was sworn in, all these Biafra noise won't be in the air.

If you truly want a land of your dream called Biafra, you start by going back home. Develop the region to enviable heights. Just the way Hong-Kong & Taiwan are fully developed while still a part of China.

If other region sees this high level of development, they will start their own agitation and want to stand alone and model this dream country.

You want Biafra yet more of your people are outside the region than inside. Charity begins at home.

First of all if PO won, it won't stop ipob. PO is hated by Ipob.
Secondly, Taiwan is not part of China and Hong Kong was developed by the British for 150 years before giving it to China in 1997.
3rdly Biafrans went home enmass in 1967 but Gowon started what he called 'police action' to bring us back. 3 million of us died for that.
4thly, how can our region develop when the Nigerian supreme court uses back-door to select leaders nobody voted for?
5thly, on what census or data are you basing the idea that more igbos are outside the SE?

But the Federal government is not solely responsible for developments in states na. Apart from Hope Uzodinma, others were elected by the people. How come are they not performing and why are the states they governed not developed as you want?

People voted for Tinubu. That you did not doesn't mean others didn't..
Secondly, you aren't clear about the Gowon action. Do you expect him to leave you guys alone?
Same Ojukwu and his brother Ironsi accuse Adaka Boro of treason for trying to leave Azikiwe one Nigeria. No country in the world will watch part of his state secede without taking action unless if they secede peacefully on agreement..

Great!

The people should keep voting these type of people. And more still, the people should bring businesses home.

It's not enough for the industrialists of your region to build companies in other states and only build mansions at home which they only visit during festive seasons.

True love for one's region goes beyond quest for independence only. You must spend your money where your mouth is.

Nigeria is a failed country and always will be. Even if you manage to get one street not to be part of Nigeria, that street has a brighter chance of escaping failure and charting a new course for its self
