The Diversity Of Nigeria Is Worth Celebrating. An Encounter With A Taraban by FSU: 11:27pm On Sep 12, 2023 |
I met a Nigerian couple today. As soon as I engaged them I felt something was different with the wife. I asked where they were originally from in NG. The man replied with "Imo", and the wife with "Taraba". I almost screamed in shock. That was my first time ever of seeing or talking to anyone from Taraba. The diversity of NG is truly amazing and worthy of appreciation. Only if the evil politicians and their equally evil hangers-on can be retired. Which brings me to the question of the day. How many states of NG have you physically interacted with people from? I have been to and interacted with people from all 17 southern states, and with people from Kogi, Kwara, Adamawa (just one person😀😀😀), Jigawa, Kano, Bornu, Niger, and Kaduna. I have been to Abuja but never interacted with a native, as also with people from the remaining 11 northern states. I'm just imagining how somebody from Zamfara thinks, talks, or look like. God bless Nigeria minus the evil politicians and their brainwashed supporters. 46 Likes 4 Shares

Nigeria is not big in landmass, but diverse in ethnicity. Each of Alaska, North & South Dakota and Montana are bigger than Nigeria in size. 23 Likes 2 Shares |

The North from the Extreme End of Sokoto and Kebbi to Borno And Adamawa State seems the same people the same culture and only slight different. In fact it will be very difficult to differentiate them because they speak the same language (Hausa) bear the same names and dress the same, myopic southerners always assume all the people are Hausa or Fulani and Muslims. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Our Leaders/Politicians employing Divide & Rule tactics have made us never to speak with one voice, by dividing us along Ethnic & Religious lines. &Fear of Insecurity has also prevented many Nigerians from visiting many interesting places in this Country. 4 Likes |

Nigerians generally are good people. It's our politicians desperate for power that make them to invent tactics and words to divide us. Unfortunately the youth of these days are following the politicians hook line and sinker. That's too bad. 8 Likes |

It won't stop Yorubas from attacking and stopping other ethnic groups from voting in south west. Even Northerners they always insult don't attack voters in their region. We're just deceiving ourselves because division is best. 7 Likes |

If our people feel that they are part of a great nation and they are prepared to will the means to keep it great, then a great nation we shall be, and shall remain. So, what can stop us from achieving this? What then stands in our way? |

We always talk about diversity in a country whose ethnicities are chiefly people of the same race. Funnily enough, we cannot manage it. If we had a bunch of races living together in one geographic location (like the US, Singapore, etc.),what would we have called it? 😊😊 |

Our diversity is good but it comes with a curse. Every tribe wants to lord over other tribes if given the opportunity. Tribalism is real, Racism is real. We do not speak one language, we have different cultures and values, and we understand things differently. Nigeria will never work if the government does not go back to regional governance. Every region for himself. You select bad leaders, and that one concerns you and your region. Your leaders lavish your natural resources, that one concern you and your region. Let the South West keep profits of its ports, real estate, and industries to itself. Let the North, keep profits from its Agriculture, Gold and Lithium to itself Let the South East keep profits from its Gas, Coal and Columbite. Let the South-South keep profits from its crude oil and ports to itself. Let every region pay a percentage as taxes to the FG. If these things are not done, our diversity remains a curse. 6 Likes |
