Dangote should go to hell, he is of no good to Nigerians, EMEIFELE sold 3.4billion dollars to him through the back window at cheap rates while Nigerians that were importing essential commodities could not get dollars at even official rate, where is the refinery he promised by july, despite all govt interventions, if not for bua s competition we would be buying cement 10k per bag
Dangote isn't d sole owner of d refinery, even d whole chain of businesses. Na dem dem...
He's only being used to front.

Good move

This is an applauds for BUA CEO,for crashing the Cement prices.
Alh.Dangote on his own can help to reduced the Prices, even further to N3000,yet he would still make his Money without a loss!
We should be Patriotic enough to know that we can share in the Feelings and Pains of the 200 Millions Nigerians, yet benefits the Majority!

Crashing the price of cement isn't the issue, increase in haulage costs arising from petrol price hike would always make the price of the commodity high or exorbitant.

Anambra could cater for the Eastern region, Cross River for the South South etc. This should be the best approach as to making cement affordable.
Oga mi, talking of haulage concerns, na dem kill our rail system. This item & others like fuel, gas, heavy equipment, etc. aren't supposed to be moved by road but by rail. The self-centeredness of d cabal is what is killing us.

Rail infrastructure is great, but it's also capital intensive. It's even more expensive than setting up a cement factory, and it's only the FG that'd be willing to undertake such project.

To my early submission, this is were partnership comes in. States could partner with the private sector to build these cement factories. Such partnership becomes a sort of direct investment to the state, in which every year the state get a return on their investment, thus boosting their IGR. If the capital is too much for a state, a whole region could pull resources together to invest and share returns amongst themselves. With a condusive business environment provided by the states or regions, I don't see how this can't be achieved.

Similarly, a small-scale cement plant with a production capacity of 50,000 tons per annum can cost around N300 million. 300million isn't much, for a state and private investor partnership.

While a large-scale plant with a capacity of 2 million tons per annum can cost upwards of N50 billion. Regions in partnership with the private sector could pull resources together to actualise this feat.

D problem is the haulage cost..
D most effective way to cut down haulage cost is to have an effective railway coverage...
It last for generations, a self financing project and a cash cow...
It also cut across all sectors, cement , Oil, Agric , Human. Goods..gas etc...
Its a one stop solution to high haulage cost in Nigeria in every sector...
Ur solution is only for cement sector...
Should we start building plants for every sector that is affected by haulage cost...
Thats a simple No..
Rail coverage is the best modern practice ....
Apart from the FG...all the regions have the resources to undertake this

The best approach to making cement affordable is to set up cement factories across many zones in the federation as possible. Limestone deposits abound in many states of the country including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Enugu, Imo, Nasarawa, Ogun and Sokoto. Like Enugu and Anambra could cater for the Eastern region, Cross River for the South South etc. This should be the best approach as to making cement affordable.

Those cheap dollars they got, they turned around and sold at exorbitant rates on the black market and made over 100% gain. What other business do u know that guarantees over 100% gain in little or no time and with little or no effort? You made a good point, bro.
Despirate Situations Calls For Despirate Actions:👇
1- Most of our Roads should not be for Heavy Trucks of carrying Cements or Fuel Tankers- just take many European Countries, for example, most of the Trucks and Rail -Transportation for heavy heavy duty goods are done overnights!
These heavy duty goods shoul be by Rail and the New Transportation Minister- should draw a New -Models for these ,to drastically reduced the Carnages of lives and Accident -on Nigerian Roads.
2-That is why Mr Rotimi Ameachi was one of the worst Minister in Nigeria by extension of Nigeria Rail to Niger Republic- for what?
3-That act was illegal that even our National Assembly- Mr Lawan and his co- jesters then -could not even called him to Order because of Buhari, who pretended,as if everything was okay!
4- Is Niger Republic part of Nigeria? No! If so,why can't we restored the Democratic Institutions back there, that they are now under the Army Rule?
5- For extending a Nigerian -Rail to another Country - is enough to impeach Buhari, how he brought dissaster to us and Wasted Unaccounted-Funds- some of the Money is now being re-paid through our nose now ! Some of these Money could have been used for Providing Jobs and Industry to Our Youths, thereby solving the Unemployments but Some-Northerners themselves are part of the Problems of NIGERIA.
• If other Nigerian -Leaders have done or Committed just half of illegalities,as Buhari did , they would have been calling for impeachment. --Remember,how Ghali -Nabaa- was always moving different motions of Impeachment against Obasanjo, throughout his tenure then!
•Niger Republic is never a Nigerian State but was Fraudulently being used by some clique in Power under several Northern Govt- State governors included- to loot our resources, even in Borders Crossings!
Have they ever Accounted for anything Accross the Nigerians- Northern Borders? No!
Very Shameful and Unpatriotic elements!
Nonsensical People are everywhere .

No doubt, your solution is apt and perfect, but, knowing the kind of country we leave in, can this be achieved?
How many of these regions would be willing to undertake a rail project for the purpose of unification the rail network/infrastructure across the country. But talk about direct investment and returns through partnership and many would gladly jump on the idea.

I still think haulage cost within regions would be at minimal in comparison to what we have now. A cement factory in Anambra State for instance can cater for neighboring states like Enugu, Ebony , Abia and Asaba. The cost for haulage from Anambra to any of these states would be cheaper, in comparison to if the cement were hauled from let's say Kogi state down to the east.

No doubt, the rail coverage is the main deal and if the government decides to invest in it, we all know it can't be achieved within a short period of time, so these factories are kinda lika a short term solution for the time being, while plans are made for proper rail coverage.

Great idea. But how about the roads, do we have good road networks? Do you know how many days it'd take to haul cement from a factory in Kogi state to the East? Remember, you're not just factoring only the cost of fuel, you have to factor other things. But if these factories were within their respective regions, it would drastically reduce cost. This is were the CNG idea would be greatly viable, it'd further crash haulage cost and thus make the commodity cheaper.
