Thing is that once we saw a prospect, we had this uncalled for attitude of discarding the old guards ,

This is a thread where everyone is free to air his view. If they ain't talking about a certain player, you help out by talking about that player with salient points. That is how to make a contribution.

yea bro, my major worry is our CB positions

If we can get additional 1 or 2 decent players to compete in that position we re good to go

I no follow for pple having wet dreams of having a xavi or iniesta kinda midfielder when he don’t even hv any at the moment

To me the only midfield addition I will welcome is the inclusion of Ebenezer Akinsanmiro not for immediate impact but to be groomed for future purposes ( I think before 2026 World Cup he will be ready)

Our best midfield 4 remains

Ndidi
Iwobi
Onyeka
Onyedika

Aribo should be excused for Alhassan, Akin, Folorunsho or nwakali to be tried making the number to 5
Lol, you're a very funny human being. You spend most of your time critisizing Nwakali, make mockery of him for playing in the second devision but here you're rooting for him to be included in the super Eagles team.

what I always criticize is the undue hype and noise surrounding him

No matter what I think of him he still remains an option if he is doing well in his club

Simi dey forget him self some times.. And there is always a confusion between Simi and Bassey as seen always even in the last game, between who moves first when there is a loose ball and the opposition closing down.. I observed them making this mistake twice. A good opponent would have dealt with us by that mistake
Semi dey forget himself?pls how many times Semi/Bassey paired in GWG.

Semi at at today is Peseiro number one CB unless he messes it up.When Akpogunma and Bassey messed up it was Semi and Omeruo to the rescued.

Nigeria Afcon starting eleven without Semi or Omeruo would be difficult

To be fair to Aribo have we utilized him where he's most effective eg. B2B midfielder or the kind of roving role we currently see with Ndidi at Leicester?

The Brazil and Ukraine friendly we saw how he performed. Aribo needs to be nearer the attacking third to get the best out of him.

Semi for whatever reason just doesn't bring that ruthlessness and determination as a defender. Anytime I've seen him come up against quality control opposition attackers he struggles whether in club or national team football. Ekong too is like that sometimes. Omeruo is now too slow what do we do.

Can't we even try Aina in the CB role at least he's more composed defensively.

We still need to see Alhassan to see what he brings to the table in terms of quality.

I don’t know why he hardly start games for antwerp anymore

Sporting Lisbon, strasbourg and Hellas Verona wanted him but his club refused selling

We have utilized him everywhere you could think of. Apart from the matches against Ukraine and Brazil, he has been below par and not worthy of jersey number 10

his natural position is CM which he played well at the last afcon

I think the reason jpes doesn’t deploy him in that position is his lack of agility and tackling ability

Another role I think he will do well is the AM/RW position

Also will be good as an SS but due to having many potent attackers/strikers I don’t think he will get a chance in that position

I think this is his last season at leicester City thus I think staying back at LCFC is the best choice. It allows him to get back to full fitness with little or no pressure. You can see that the coach hardly plays him for 90 minutes. Trying to manage his fitness.
He would be a free agent next season and with his performance this season for club and country bare no serious injuries next summer will be interesting!
ChrisKels:

Not impressed with the choice of going down with Leicester but I hope he does well to get the attention of a better team either in the winter or summer with Leicester promoted or not.

Rate Nigeria strikers from 1 to 10!
Victor Osimhen — three goals scored this season
Victor Boniface — four goals and two assists
Terem Moffi — three goals and two assists
Taiwo Awoniyi — three goals and one assist
…it looks fantastic for Nigeria and their fans

Bassey and Iwobi keeping each company on the bench in Fulham vs Luton. Also Elijah Adebayo on the bench, Chiedozie, Somkelechukwu Ogbene (Irish player) also on the bench for Luton. Bassey might be in for a long spell on the bench with Castagne starting at LB and Tosin still available too.

Bro sometimes necessity is the mother of invention. Look at how coaches in Europe shuffle their defensive options when the right combination isn't working.

Efe Ambrose is/was a CB but Keshi used him as a RB to fulfill a role when quality options were unavailable.

Aina loves to overlap.. He won't work as a CB!

Efe Ambrose also overlapped alot I'm pretty sure Aina as a professional he won't mind doing a job for the team.

Yobo too is a perfect example of a RB how later became a CB. if it's size you're worried about Aina sef no be small man.
