I'd say this is a fairly accurate summary of the situation. Not all churches are business schemes run by a venal entrepreneur. But 96.34% of them are.

When I entered and asked the gateman that I'm looking for RCCG he had this sly smile on his face as he answered me because I was visibly confused on entering. So many banners and directions and redirections. He pointed the way and mentioned to me "bros church wey dey here alone too plenty oo but na redeem be that where those cars park. Getting inside now na another thing I dey see
