Past behaviours is the best way to predict the future..... since umahi started politics how many roads have been built by him or other politicians that have lasted a minimum of 6 months?

As a governor which road did he build that lasted 6 months?

To cut long story short I m don hammer with all this talk of road this and that.... a few billions coming into his pocket

I mean when you go work do you announce say you dey go finish the report, start your work, or even announce wetin you want to for the day at work to your colleagues talkless of boss ( we citizens are the boss to umahi)...

They say if you are sitting in a table with 5 people and if you can't figure out who the mugu is in 5 seconds, then that means you are the mugu.

apparently you don't know Umahi, you're here to vent your anger unnecessarily

Nigerians love to lament after the fact but can never get things done in the heat of the moment.

We were all here (except those just graduating from kindergarten and earning their first phones) when this issue arose in 2015 and the talk then was that 'it doesn't matter', and the fans were vocal in saying the ministerial post was an administrative one and I quote, 'did not require the ability (know how) to carry a shovel'.

They said it was Mr. President's right to appoint whomsoever he wanted. And then the national assembly, the final safety feature, the airbag of good governance was turned off courtesy of yes men led by an agama lizard. Shey 'cooperation' is synonymous with success abi? We said it all back then.

A nation that does not have a thriving democracy where wide, dissenting views are not regarded with cautionary values will always stumble from one pit to the other.

The state of Nigeria reflects our values and our knowledge. Both sub par.

"The past administration has good intention for the road but Nigerians doesn't have value for their money. Meaning, the work done on the road so far, doesn't justify the money spent on the road by the past administration".
Engr. David Umahi, Minister for Works.

The last Minister for Works under the last administration is one lawyer called Babatunde Fashola SAN. He now goes around lecturing State Executives on how to run their states effectively. Jokers!

Still disturbing everyone's ears with this "performance in Lagos" BS. The man was a federal minister for the last 8 years and look at the road in this video - a federal road in his care?

Nonsense.

Ask yourself why you just type your comments?... ask yourself is it because of money dem pay you or you are just a tribalist?

not entirely correct. Who don useless, don useless. If three ministries were merged and given to Fashola, all may not have had significant improvements but there should have been one of those ministries to point at that had improvements, unfortunately, none shocked. He was very vocal before getting the position that it doesn't take rocket science to fix power, did he fulfill what he boasted about? He became useless immediately he left as governor, unfortunately, he always spoke the loudest embarassed
I'm happy how Fashola was demystified. Give the worst governor in the east Lagos To govern and after 8 years, they will be praising him too. A small state with huge money

As far as can be seen, the person you quoted did not say a word about the ethnicity of the underperforming federal minister of works in Buhari's underperforming administration.

You have nothing to contribute to this thread so you're trying your best to derail it. Go to the romance section or the celebrities section and talk about big brother nigeria or something. The discussion here is definitely above your paygrade.

That's because the other tribes are enemies of progress. When you have civilization and development in your genes, it rubs off wherever and whatever you do.

But when your fore fathers are known for retrogression, emptiness, tourism, land grabbing and cave mentality just like some people we know, everything about what they do will the opposite of progress.

HE Engr David Umahi is certainly a round peg in a round hole, one of the best ministerial appointees of PBAT. The three qualities that stand him out are as follows;

1. He is a Civil Engineer hence understands what the job is about

2. He is a very good manager of resources. See how much he accomplished in Ebonyi State within a short time and with far less resources than other states. His emphasis on quality at reduced cost, use of longer lasting concrete roads and challenging wasteful spending and excessive beaureacracy testify to this

3. He is bold and courageous, taking on vested interests in the process

I like the way he commends his predecessor HE Babatunde Fashola who though is a Lawyer, confronted some of the road infrastructure issues during his time. People forget how very bad and dilapidated our road infrastructure was before he came in. Govt budgets less than N100bln yearly for roads that need nothing less than N4trillion annually and everybody across the 6 geopolitical zones want their roads fixed. How possible?

Credit that roads such as Lagos-Ibadan, 2nd Niger Bridge, Loko-Oweto Bridge, sections of Abuja-Kano Road, Ilorin-Jebba, Oshodi Expressway, numerous roads funded under Sukuk etc were all accomplished.

Umahi will soon grapple with the issue of funding. Just like he said, N14trn is required to complete ongoing projects of which he is working hard to secure N4trn. This is just to complete ongoing projects and nothing yet on the new projects which will be his signature projects such as the superhighways between Lagos and Abuja and between Lagos and PortHarcourt. Each of those roads will cost at least $10bln or N8trn.

I advise him to also focus on raising funds outside govt i.e. lots of PPPs, Sukuk-like funding, tax credits etc. Without that, he won't be able to achieve much. I like the fact that he will build more roads and infrastructure for the same cost that Fashola did. Contractors and civil servants may have played on Fashola's lack of engineering knowledge to fleece Nigerians through those expensive contracts. Umahi will not allow that. I wish him all the best as Nigerians have lost patience.

I don't know about Benue and the rest of SS but Ikwere has more than half of its people claiming to be Igbo. Should we ignore them because of a vocal minority? Peter Odili and Amechi say they are Igbo.

Now you're talking facts. The real Nigerians 💯 are the Igbos in terms of patriotism and competence. In a saner clime, no hausafulani of the North should be allowed to lead the country or any key ministries and agencies except peculiar to Islam and cows affairs.
They are people with distorted minds of evil 😈 and Looting sprees like Buhari had just shown. They often have Zero leadership skills in a multi religion and ethnic groups. If Nigeria has always been ruled by Southerners, we would have been close Dubai in terms of development. Just take a look at Umahi composure and knowledge and experience....⁰
