umuna: Yes, not necessarily the person's village, it can be any rural, local or semi urban area with low cost of living. But if it's your own village, you will spend less on acquiring land, and many other benefits as an indigine. 3 Likes |

Village even far, there are several big towns/cities in Nigeria that are nowhere as crowded as Abuja, Lagos, PH, Ibadan etc. In the SW that many are familiar with, there are places you can live in but you have to be very innovative. Some places that people bash online are goldmines for the smart ones and many are living peaceful and comfortable lives in those places including those who relocated from diaspora. Ask bankers in those towns/cities and they will tell you that many people in those places are super comfortable based on their cash flow that passes through the banks. Examples are Abeokuta, Osogbo, Oyo town, Ado-Ekiti, Akure, Ogbomoso, Ilesha, Ile-Ife, Ondo town, Offa, and many other places. In the SS and SE, this category of places to live are in abundance. Same with most of the North. You just have to be a very smart workaholic and you have to open your eyes to the numerous untapped opportunities and these are not limited to farming/agriculture. 2 Likes |

this thread is just for attention. who wan go village? come see poverty and suffering. na only one place get cold beer for the whole town. and e no too cold. people there are more friendly however. they are friendly and smile a lot, but all their clothes and shoes are old and worn out i think the best things is to build nice resorts in a villages so people can go and unwind for a week or two once a while after lagos stress you and frustrate you but of you want make progress in life stay for lagos or, make motivational speaker no stranded your destiny |

Well you are right in a way but do you know that even in the village people are still struggling to feed? It ain't always brighter at the other side, many of us who prefer to stay in the city live by "HOPE" in such a way that our aspirations and ambitions can be achieved quicker in the city which can rarely be achieved in a village. I stayed in the village for some years and I can categorically tell you that villages have also evolved in such a way that these villages are almost competing with the cities in terms of price of commodities and not in terms of development, just maybe you are talking of some core interior villages which don't have access to electricity, hygienic water, good roads among otherd all, these can contribute to one falling sick and kicking the bucket simply because you have no access to medicals. Well, your point is still valid if the city ain't doing you any good, one can move to the village to enjoy a relatively cheaper life but the sacrifices(giving up on ambitions and aspirations) are too much to handle for me and others who prefer the city. Best regards. 2 Likes |

to wine & dine with village girls? cheesy But seriously, there are potentially more money and opportunities in the city than in the village. &Govt has a huge role to play in terms of infrastructures, security & other incentives to discourage Urban Migration. |

How many villages have universities or factories? How many villages have a functional health centers or electricity? How many villages have a standard secondary and primary school? Apart from farming what other job opportunities do we have in the villages? How many villages have a standard living conditions? If my village have all or some of the items I listed above, then tell me why I will leave my village where I have a house to go to the city where I will spend huge amount every year on rent. Provide these facilities in the villages and you will see how these cities will be decongested drastically 1 Like |

Good advise, especially for the ones who got nothing doing and the ones who are struggling perpetually in the cities... Prosperity is not only found in the city. There is prosperity in the villages too... May God open our inner eyes 2 Likes |
