A road bike. My maximum distance used to be 25km, increased gradually this year. Did 86km yesterday but suffered muscle cramp at some point 😁

Not trying to defend ripping people off.But $2k for 2 two bedroom *furnished* basement sounds reasonable to me.We would have definitely gone for this option if we found any one available when we landed in Calgary 4months ago.Instead,we rented a two br basement airbnb at $120 a day,which would have costed us over $3k a month.We ended up leaving Calgary after 2weeks for Edmonton,but I would have gladly stayed longer in Calgary to find a place for more time had we found this type of affordable short term rental.


Like I said, it's meant for new immigrants like you without credit score and I believe it's taking advantage of them, goodluck in getting ripped off cheesy

I do not know so much about Business Analysis Certification. The advise I can give is that do not let the Certification be the driver. You have to have a clear 5 year plan regarding your career and see of PMP or Business Analysis will be useful during that time.

I know for a certainty that PMP is well considered in Canada. It is expensive but it teaches you plenty of useful concepts. You would of course be expected to have had some background and be ready to apply it at work.

I was preparing for PMP myself and I have some materials I can share if you are interested.

We'll be homeschooling our kids till they reach college age.We have a 16-month-old and one underway.Here in Edmonton, we have some homeschooling co-ops.I'll be using the one in my church when time comes.

I'm delighted to have found this thread, and I'm currently one year into my study visa in Canada. Admittedly, I didn't conduct thorough research before choosing Montreal as my destination. Nevertheless, I believe that life is an ongoing learning experience, and I've decided to tackle the challenges and uncertainties head-on while conducting more personal research.

As I approach the completion of my studies next year, I find myself in a pivotal moment of planning for the future. My primary goal is to transition to an English-speaking province within Canada. In reaching out to this community, I hope to connect with members who have valuable experience navigating this stage of life. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to communicate via email to seek guidance, so as not to inconvenience anyone.

You said the most important thing - you did not carry out a thorough research before going to the French-speaking part of Canada. I see that a lot. That said, the world is your oyster with regards to what you want to do next.

Do you learn French? Did you like the culture in Montreal? Have you experienced other areas outside Canada to compare? It is all about what you want. I know English-speaking people in the banking, IT and power generation sectors in Quebec. They love it there.

I know what it is like to live in an English and then a French and back to English-speaking country. Everything depends on your personal and family objective. Make the most of where you are before leaving. I made sure my family had French citizenship before leaving France. I advise that you get the very best of Montreal before leaving. You never know when you will need it.

All the best and I hope you find people who have been similar situations as you. Look at the facebook pages for British and French expats in Canada. You have plenty of people with similar experiences on there.

It will take a majority Conservative government to kick him out since NDP will continue to support him. He has to do something really really bad for there to be a vote of no confidence on his government.
